Happy 76th Birthday Aston "Family Man" Barrett 22nd November 1946 was one of the Barrett brothers (the other being the younger brother on drums Carlton "Carly" Barrett) who played with Bob Marley and The Wailers, The Hippy Boys, and Lee Perry's The Upsetters. He was the bandleader of Marley's backing band, as well as co-producer of the albums, and the man in charge of the overall song arrangements.
Barrett continues to tour with and lead The Wailers Band. He has great support from Marley's fan base to this day, despite his legal wrangling with the Marley family.
Barrett was the mentor and teacher of Robbie Shakespeare of the duo Sly & Robbie.[3]
In 2012 he received a Lifetime Achievement award from Bass Player magazine.[

STICKS (or Stick) McGHEE and his brother, BROWNIE McGHEE. Many of us know of Brownie from the recordings of Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee from 1958 till 1980, but before that, as well as playing with Sonny in a similar vein, Brownie played jump blues and swing with his brother, Sticks, or Stick McGhee. They laid down great songs like "Drinkin' Wine, Spodee Odee, Drinkin' Wine" "Robie-Doby Boogie" and many others. Cool, swinging music that showed yet another side of Brownie McGhee, who I like to call, "The Man with a Thousand Songs." Real gems, too!
