I asked ChatGPT to psychoanalyze my growth over the last 6 years. It completely dismantled me.

I fed an AI a journal entry I wrote in March 2020 about ego — how chasing the elimination of ego is itself ego, how the struggle is what tightens the grip — and asked it one question: where have I grown and where have I backslid?

It told me I’ve grown. I test ideas now instead of just thinking about them. I’m more comfortable being seen. I choose exposure over safety.

Then it told me I didn’t escape the treadmill. I just upgraded it. Different language, same mechanism. “It’s for the audience.” “It’s about value.” Ego doesn’t disappear. It just gets smarter.

The line from 2020 that hit the hardest six years later: “Don’t get movement confused with progress.”

Save this for when you need to hear it again. Where are you still mistaking motion for direction?
