🎯 If Access Isn’t Built In, People Are Left Out. 🎯

Accessibility isn’t just a website issue. It’s about whether people can fully participate in your mission.

About 1 in 4 U.S. adults lives with a disability. So if your organization says everyone is welcome, accessibility has to be part of how you make that welcome real.

📌 Can people using screen readers navigate your site and complete a donation form?
📌 Can someone access your content without a mouse?
📌 Are buttons, links, and forms clear and easy to use?
📌 Do your videos and event recordings include captions?
📌 Can people get the same information and take the same actions, regardless of how they access your site?

Accessibility is part of designing for the people you’re trying to reach. When people encounter barriers, they may never tell you. They simply move on.

Your mission is for everyone. Your communications should be, too. 👉 cviad.com

💬 Good Intentions Don't Always Create a Sense of Belonging. 💬

Even the most well-intentioned questions can unintentionally make someone feel like an outsider—or as though they need to explain why they belong.

At CviaD, we believe inclusive communication begins with awareness. The words we choose, the assumptions we make, and the stories we tell can either create connection or unintentionally reinforce a sense of “otherness.”

Are we creating opportunities for connection, or unintentionally reinforcing differences?

A thought-provoking article from the Association of Fundraising Professionals reminds us that small shifts in how we ask, listen, and communicate can make a meaningful difference.

Inclusion isn't simply what we intend. It's what others experience.

🎨 Five Friends. Three Years. One Shared Perspective. 🎨

What happens when five artists spend three years exploring the natural beauty around them? A remarkable celebration of art, friendship, and the landscapes that connect us.

Our friends at Westerly Library invite you to experience The Five Friends, an exhibition showcasing the work of five local artists inspired by the region's land trusts and natural spaces.

From luminous coastlines and shifting light to open fields and abstract interpretations, each artist brings a unique perspective to the landscapes we share.

Join the opening reception tonight and experience the exhibition firsthand. Plus, meet the artists!

📅 October 7 | 5–7 p.m.
📍 Hoxie Gallery, Westerly Library
🖼️ Exhibition on view through October 29

We're always inspired by organizations that bring art, creativity, and community together. Westerly Library does just that!

Come for the art. Stay for the inspiration. 💛 https://www.westerlylibrary.org/event/october-exhibition-five-friends

🌟 CREATIVE QUERY: IMPACT REPORT 🌟

Q: How do we create an impact report users actually read—not just skim and file away?

A: Most reports don't fall short on content. They fall short on clarity. When storytelling and design work together, impact becomes easier to see, understand, and act on.

A great impact report isn't measured by how much it says. It's measured by how the information is presented.

📌 Lead with what matters. Don’t make readers work through less impactful content to find the reason they should care.
📌 Make the data do some work. Use visuals and storytelling to turn numbers into something people can understand and remember.
📌 Put people at the center. Behind every metric is a person, a community, or a real-world change. Share those experiences with dignity and context.
📌 Design for the whole audience. Accessibility isn’t an add-on. Build with readable type, strong contrast, accessible PDFs, and a web experience that works for everyone.
📌 Design beyond the report. Build modular content that can become a donor email, a board slide, a social post, or the next conversation.

Because an impact report shouldn’t just document what happened. It should help people understand why it matters.

At CviaD, we design impact reports that are clear, accessible, and built to be read. 👉 cviad.com

🚆 A new chapter is taking shape in Boston 🚆

South Station has long been a vital piece of Boston’s transportation network, connecting people to the city and beyond. As Boston continues to evolve, so too does the neighborhood surrounding one of its most important gateways.

Enter South Station Tower—rising above one of the city’s busiest transit hubs, the new tower brings together modern office space, hospitality, retail, and public amenities in a truly connected setting.

The transformation goes beyond the skyline. Thoughtfully designed pedestrian pathways, new public spaces, and an activated streetscape are creating a more dynamic street level experience, turning South Station from a place to pass through into a place to arrive, gather, work, and connect.

For us, there’s something especially meaningful about seeing this evolution take shape just beyond the Seaport District as we watch the momentum extend past our immediate streets and into the broader neighborhood.

South Station Tower represents a larger evolution of how people experience, move through, and connect with the city. From transportation hub to mixed-use destination, Boston is moving forward... and upward!

🎯 Your Website Isn’t Just Where People Find You. It’s Where They Decide to Believe in You. 🎯

Your nonprofit’s website has an important job.

It’s often the first place a donor, volunteer, funder, partner, or community member goes to understand who you are, what you do, and how they can get involved.

But is your website making that journey easy?
📌 Can people quickly understand your mission and why it matters?
📌 Does your website make your impact clear and compelling?
📌 Can visitors easily find the information they need to get involved?
📌 Are your calls to action clear, visible, and easy to follow?
📌 Does the experience build trust, or create uncertainty?
📌 Does every page help move people from interest to engagement?

Because a website can inform people without inspiring them to act.

A great mission can lose momentum when visitors can’t quickly see where they fit in.

A strong nonprofit website makes your mission easier to understand, your impact easier to see, and your next step easier to take.

Let’s build a nonprofit website that builds trust, communicates impact, and turns interest into action. 👉 cviad.com

💰 The Great Wealth Transfer Is Changing the Donor-Nonprofit Relationship. 💰

A significant shift in philanthropy is taking shape as trillions of dollars are moving into the hands of women. And with that shift comes a new opportunity for nonprofits.

Women are increasingly looking beyond the traditional model of giving. They want to understand the why, the how, and the impact behind their generosity.

For nonprofits, this is an invitation to rethink how they engage, cultivate, partner, and build meaningful relationships with women donors.

It means asking:
📌 Are we creating meaningful opportunities for women to engage with our mission?
📌 Are we communicating impact in a way that feels transparent and tangible?
📌 Are we treating women as strategic partners and philanthropic leaders, rather than simply as donors?
📌 Are we creating opportunities for connection, community, and long-term involvement?

As a women-owned business, we believe the future of philanthropy is about more than raising dollars. It’s about building relationships that create lasting impact.

🚀 Turning Complexity Into Clarity, And Collaboration Into Impact. 🚀

CviaD was proud to partner with Jobs for the Future (JFF) on the Direct Assessment Competency-Based Education Implementation Blueprint, developed with the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office.

This comprehensive, fully accessible resource transforms complex guidance into a clear, engaging, and actionable tool designed to help California community colleges advance equity-centered CBE programs.

But great work isn’t just about the final product. It’s also about the partnership that gets you there.

We’re especially grateful to Sylvia Cini-Grenada and the JFF team for sharing these words about their experience working with CviaD and for trusting us with such meaningful work.

Good design gets stronger when the partnership behind it is strong, too. 👉 https://cviad.com
