In case you missed it yesterday, Mayor Wu announced that our founder, Jessicah Pierre, will join her cabinet as the city of Boston's new chief of communications! We are beyond of Jessicah and excited to see how her passion, skillset, and vision contribute to making Boston a more inclusive and better city.

With that being said, J. Pierre Communications will be on a hiatus indefinitely and will not be taking on new clients in the new year. Our team has enjoyed serving this city's brightest political figures, nonprofits and social impact brands. We hope to be able to get back in the consulting game in the future.

In the meantime, please continue to follow us on social media for more PR and Marketing tips. Thanks for all of your support this year and happy holidays!

Mayor Michelle Wu says Pierre “shares our vision of a Boston for everyone.”

This is why our work is so crucial for not just growing brands, but also protecting them.

Public relations reach measures the total number of people who see or interact with a brand’s particular communications item. It is especially relevant with the emergence of digital media, and is often referred to as impressions.

PR reach is about counting:
- Social media impressions and shares
- Viewership of a television program that mentioned a company or its products
- Views of a news story on an online news site or blog.

In order to increase the visibility of your brand, you should always strive to increase the numbers of your PR reach.

We join the entire city of Boston this week in celebrating the swearing in of Boston's first woman and person of color mayor, Michelle Wu. We are beyond excited to see how the city transforms for the better, under the leadership of a millennial mom, daughter of immigrants, former small business owner and compassionate individual who understands the urgency of the many issues Bostonians face.

Michelle Wu is the first woman, first person of color, and first Asian American elected to lead the city.

Both traditional PR and digital PR raise brand awareness and promote products or services by creating positive messaging for a target audience but they differ in their ex*****on.

📺 Traditional PR utilizes traditional channels such as newspapers, magazines, television, radio, and events (eg. conferences, trade shows, etc.).

💻 Whereas digital PR relies on newer, digital channels like online news sites, websites, social media, blogs, and video platforms like .

📝 When choosing a PR plan for your business, it’s important to keep in mind the goals you want to accomplish.

📲 For instance, if you want to rank higher on Google, produce highly creative content, and allow two-way conversations between you and your audience, digital PR is the way to go.

📰 But if building your reputation as an industry expert, more accurate brand messaging, and getting in front of your potential customer is your goal, traditional PR is a better option.

We have SO much to celebrate from this week’s election! 🎉

Not only did was elected as Boston’s first woman and person of color as Mayor, but we also elected as the city’s first Haitian-American City Councilor At-Large. This is huge because Boston has the third largest Haitian population in the country and we will finally have representation in municipal government.

At JPC we are so proud of our very own for all of the hard work she has been doing in the back-end and of course PR work. The blew us away!
