In September 2020, we brought Derek McLaughlin, Assistant Controller, on board to keep our numbers straight as an arrow! Derek was promoted in April 2026 and now serves as our Controller, overseeing the finance department. See below to read a bit of why Derek has our complete confidence!

Question 1: What separates VUE Health from any other place you have worked?
VUE Health stands out from other organizations I’ve worked at primarily due to the hands-on involvement of the partners. They are consistently willing to engage directly with the team and work through challenges alongside us, regardless of the complexity or scope.
Additionally, the company fosters a strong sense of camaraderie. There is a genuine team-oriented culture where colleagues feel more like an extension of a community than just coworkers. I believe this is largely driven by our CEO's leadership, who prioritizes inclusivity and ensures that employees feel valued.

Question 2: If you could have any superpower at work, what would it be?
The ability to understand a client’s unspoken needs and priorities. Being able to anticipate what a potential or existing client is truly looking for—beyond what is explicitly communicated—would allow me to better support the team in tailoring our approach, strengthening relationships, and ultimately positioning us more effectively to win new business and drive revenue growth.

Question 3: What is the benefit of working remotely? And when you visit Boston, what is your favorite hot spot?
One of the biggest benefits of working remotely, especially in a finance role, is the privacy it offers. Much of my work involves handling sensitive and confidential information and working from home allows me to focus without concern for maintaining that level of discretion.
Additionally, remote work has given me the flexibility to relocate my family from Massachusetts to Florida, which has had a meaningful impact on our overall quality of life.
When I do visit the Seaport in Boston, one of my favorite spots is Rocco’s Sports & Rec. It’s a great place to grab dinner, enjoy the atmosphere, and catch a game—always a go-to when I’m in town.

VUE Health's collaborative and agile culture sets it apart from other workplaces. As a result, no challenge feels insurmountable, and every project is engaging.

Question 2: If you could have any superpower at work, what would it be?

My ideal workplace superpowers would be a near-photographic memory—perfect for effortlessly recalling clinical data, regulatory nuances, and the occasional obscure citation—and the ability to communicate fluently with our four-legged canine visitors. While the former would keep my writing precise and efficient, the latter would ensure optimal morale, tail wags, and perhaps a few well-negotiated snack breaks.

Question 3: What is your favorite part about working in Seaport?

I love the numerous cafés and restaurants in the Seaport district. My current favorite is the coffee shop and bakery Elephantine Bakery!

Question #1: What separates VUE Health from any other place you have worked?
The biggest difference at VUE is the people. The team is incredibly collaborative, supportive, and invested, not just in the work but in each other. That dynamic makes even the most challenging projects feel manageable and creates a really positive, team-first culture.

Question #2: If your job had a theme song, what would it be?
Run the World (Girls) by Beyoncé, because most days feel like a mix of leading, juggling, and making things happen under pressure… with a little bit of chaos and a lot of confidence.

Question #3: What is your favorite part about working in Seaport?
The best part of Seaport is the energy and the location. Being near the water, grabbing coffee at Blue Bottle Coffee, or doing a quick team happy hour at Committee Seaport makes the workday feel a lot more balanced.

Meet Daisy! Daisy Joined VUE in September of 2017. She is one of our Medical Directors who got her PhD from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York.

What separates VUE Health from any other place you have worked?
In my previous jobs, I was either in front of a classroom, or in a bathing suit (doing field research on dolphin behavior).

If your job had a theme song, what would it be?
It’s not really my theme song, but I always thought it would be kind of cool if “The Eye of the Tiger” played when I walked into a room.

What is your favorite part about working in Seaport?
I love being able to take the ferry into work in the warmer months.
