Lisa started Promise Consulting Group in 2010 after realizing the need for marketing expertise by businesses either just starting out or in early, high-growth mode. Lisa is the principal consultant and main point of contact for all clients. Promise Consulting Group also has a team in place to support with ongoing projects, allowing for various marketing specialties among diverse companies. Lisa gr

aduated from Bentley University, double majoring in Marketing and Global Perspectives with additional experience in Web Design at Massachusetts College of Art & Design. She served on the Board of Directors for a local animal rescue from 2010-2016 and has a passion for animal welfare and other nonprofit organizations. Lisa currently acts as an advisor for Kittyo, a revolutionary new pet product that lets you interact with your cat when you’re away. For the last 7 years, Lisa has consulted for domestic and international startups across many industries, including e-commerce, printing, travel, health + fitness, sports, education, pets, web development and financial services. Her corporate experience includes management roles at Vistaprint, TripAdvisor and DraftKings driving growth through marketing and partnership.

Yesterday, I shared that June 1 marked 10 years since I took the leap and began growing Promise Consulting Group, LLC full-time.

Over the years, the business has evolved alongside the incredible startups and growing companies I’ve had the opportunity to support. What started as marketing consulting has expanded into helping organizations navigate growth through strategic marketing leadership, customer acquisition, partnerships, CRM, marketing operations and performance optimization.

As part of that evolution, I’ve refreshed the Promise Consulting Group website to better reflect the work we do today and the businesses we serve.

While the website is new, the mission remains the same: helping startups and emerging businesses turn strategy into measurable results.

A big thank you to the clients, partners, colleagues and friends who have been part of this journey over the past decade. Your trust and support have made all the difference.

Exactly 10 years ago today, I left corporate to begin consulting full-time.

Giving up a guaranteed paycheck every two weeks was scary. But I didn't just jump blindly, I had a plan:

- I already had a few clients before making the final exit.
- My only real costs were a laptop and a phone.
- If I lost one client, I still had others to fall back on.
- I built a strict 30-day notice period into every contract.
- And the ultimate safety net: I told myself I could always go back to corporate if it didn't work out.

A decade later, never say never, but I don’t expect I will.

Working for yourself is not for everyone. Neither is working remotely, or managing your own days from home. It takes a specific mindset. But for me, it’s a perfect fit. I’m self-motivated, I thrive on a good challenge and I do my best work when there's variety.

Above all, I wanted flexibility. This path gave me total geographic freedom – I can work from anywhere, and I often do.

The best part? The people. I’ve worked with more than 50 companies and hundreds of different teammates. My approach has always been the same: I operate as a true part of the team, never just a consultant on the outskirts.

It hasn't all been a smooth ride. Every business faces tough situations and tricky dynamics to navigate. But looking back at the last 10 years, it’s been better than I could have ever imagined.

To every leader who trusted me with their business, and every teammate who welcomed me into their world – thank you for making the last decade a great adventure!
