Build an AI marketing analyst that recommends fewer, better actions.
Start by defining its decision boundary. A search-news monitor should identify developments worth human review. It should not automatically rewrite pages because a headline sounds urgent.
Give it a concise business brief: relevant markets, priority services, important page groups and current initiatives. Keep the input limited to information the workflow is authorized to use.
For each candidate development, require this record:
What changed?
What primary evidence supports it?
When was it published, and when did the event occur?
Which part of our business could be affected?
What remains unknown?
What reversible next step is justified?
What would make that step unnecessary?
Separate collection from recommendation. First gather and deduplicate evidence. Then compare the change with the business brief. Several articles repeating one announcement should not become several independent signals.
Add “no action needed” and “insufficient evidence” as valid outputs. Cap the review queue so the system must prioritize instead of forwarding every item.
Begin in review-only mode. Let a person approve tasks and retain control of production changes. Keep a record of accepted, rejected and duplicate recommendations, with short reasons.
After two weeks, inspect the mistakes. Did it miss a relevant update? Overstate weak evidence? Recommend work already completed? Use those examples to improve the selection rules and test future changes.
The result you want is a shorter path from evidence to a useful decision. More sources and more summaries only help if the system becomes better at identifying what deserves attention.
