This was the beginning of really building my business…

My upline had to show up to basically everything I did because I had NO idea what I was doing 😂

She would help answer questions, talk on presentations with me, and guide me through conversations because I was still learning everything myself.

I wasn’t confident.I wasn’t polished.I definitely wasn’t “good on camera.”

Half the time I was reading from scripts or checking the back of product bags because I couldn’t remember ingredients yet 😅

And now people say to me,“Melinda, I could never show up online like you do.”

But here’s the thing…

You’re not supposed to show up like me.You’re supposed to show up like YOU.

And you definitely are not supposed to compare your day 1 to my year 10.

Confidence is built.Communication is built.Leadership is built.

None of this started naturally for me.

What changed everything was consistency. Showing up before I felt ready. Getting uncomfortable over and over again until it became normal.

And honestly?Your beginning is probably MORE relatable to people than where I am now.

People connect to authenticity far more than perfection.

Leadership is being willing to show up messy while you figure it out.

So if you’ve been holding yourself back because you think you can’t “do it like someone else”… good.

Don’t do it like someone else.

Do it like YOU.

Everyone’s trying to automate everything right now… but human connection still matters more than ever. 🤝

Yes, I use AI.
Yes, I use automations.
And yes, they absolutely help.

But if I can personally jump into a conversation in my DMs, I will almost every time.

Because a quick 30–45 second voice note can instantly build trust in a way automated messages just can’t.

I can’t tell you how many times someone has messaged me and said:
👉 “Wow, thanks for actually responding.”
👉 “I can’t believe you took the time to voice message me.”

That matters.

Whether someone ends up buying, joining my team, or not… they still got a real human interaction instead of feeling like they were talking to a robot the entire time.

And honestly? A lot of times that connection alone leads to a follow, a future conversation, or someone coming back later when the timing is right.

People don’t just buy products anymore.
They buy connection.
They buy trust.
They buy from people who make them feel seen.

AI is an amazing tool.
But relationships will always be the real superpower. 💯

Yes. We are. More than ever actually. 👏

People love to act like network marketing is some outdated concept while simultaneously:
• sharing Amazon storefronts
• posting TikTok Shop links
• dropping affiliate codes at checkout
• monetizing literally everything online

It’s all under the same umbrella: social selling.

The difference?
With network marketing, I can make money from product sales and teach other people how to do the same thing successfully.

And before people start:
🚫 No, not all companies are predatory.
🚫 No, you should not be paying insane monthly minimums.
🚫 No, you shouldn’t have to buy inventory to “stay active.”

That’s why due diligence matters.

I’ve been with my health & wellness company for 10 years. I’ve stayed because:

I promise it gets better. This is a long term business where you have to stay disciplined when you don’t feel like it.

You think nothing is happening, but you are building trust with your audience, showing passion and getting better one conversation at a time.

Stay in the game, even if you work your business 20 minutes a day it’s with it in the long term.

Born too late to see dinosaurs. Born too early to see flying cars. Born just in time to figure out how to make reels to grow my business. 😂

Honestly though… if you’re a business owner and you’re not using social media, you are leaving SO much growth on the table.

I know it feels overwhelming. I know it feels like “I didn’t sign up for this.” But here’s what I’ve learned: it doesn’t have to be perfect. No perfect makeup. No fancy camera. No staged office. Just YOU, talking to your camera, being real, being consistent, and knowing exactly who you’re speaking to.

People freeze and keep scrolling the second they feel like they’re being sold to. But when you show up authentically and actually connect with your audience? That’s when people stop and listen.

I’ve been in network marketing for 10 years, but it wasn’t until I committed to really showing up in the online space over the past 3 years that everything shifted. I went from stuck and losing momentum to gaining 200+ new followers a month, bringing in 5 to 10 new customers monthly, and even helping my team get out of their comfort zones and do the same.

Business is about pivoting. Seeing what’s working, getting uncomfortable, and growing into it.
