Before JGJ Designs was officially founded in 2015, I had the privilege of collaborating with wonderful community-driven organizations across Greater Boston to help share their stories through print and .

One project that holds a special place in my heart was with SCM Transportation. I was recruited to design a vibrant event calendar and mailer to keep local seniors in Somerville, MA connected with monthly activities. Bringing those colorful pieces to life and supporting such a meaningful non-profit was a true joy!

An Unforgettable Evening of Connection, Laughter & Networking.

What an amazing evening at the City of Boston’s WeBos (Women Entrepreneur Boston) and The Jar Mixer at La Sala in Roxbury! From great food and laughter to meaningful conversations and new connections, the evening brought together a diverse group of women entrepreneurs and professionals from Boston and beyond.

I loved learning about The Jar and its mission to bring people together through art, culture, and meaningful relationship-building. We also enjoyed the art of a wonderful comedian, Dorothy Whitfield, who reminded us that laughter truly brings people together!

A big thank-you to WeBos x The Jar for creating such a welcoming space for connection, collaboration, and community. It was also a great opportunity for JGJ Designs to share who we are, what we do, and how we help organizations elevate their brands through thoughtful graphic design and visual communications.

JGJ Designs + Black Nativity | The Design Challenge

How do you combine the old with the new—tradition with contemporary design?

For the 56th season of Black Nativity Boston, the National Center of Afro-American Artists (NCAAA) recruited JGJ Designs to redesign the production’s logo. The challenge was to honor a powerful legacy while creating a fresh, contemporary, forward-looking visual identity.

JGJ Designs partnered with NCAAA’s Executive Director to explore concepts centered around:

• The Sankofa symbol — honoring the past while looking toward the future.
• Dancing Mary — a powerful image representing decades of Black Nativity tradition.
• Power, presence & professionalism — creating a mark that reflects the significance of this beloved Boston tradition.

The result? A visual identity that blends legacy with modern design.

Black Nativity has been a Boston tradition since 1970, and its 56th season continues that legacy with fresh energy and a timeless message.

Creatives inspiring creatives!

What a treat to visit SoWa Market in Boston’s South End! While exploring the market, I stumbled upon a studio space (studio213Art.com) and had the pleasure of meeting Cedric Harper (CedricHarper.com), one of three artists who share the space.

I immediately fell in love with Cedric’s rich, textural paintings. I’ve always believed red, black, and white are among the most powerful color combinations—and red happens to be my favorite color!

Interestingly, red, black, and white also feature in JGJ Designs’ New Year and Lunar New Year cards, so seeing Cedric’s beautiful use of this powerful palette felt especially inspiring.

We had a wonderful exchange about art, creativity, and the creative process, and I also enjoyed viewing the work of his talented studio mates. Moments like these remind me how important it is for creatives to get out, explore, connect, and inspire one another.

Last Thursday evening, Boston City Hall became an inspiring, interactive space where Boston’s creative community could connect, collaborate, and learn about the City of Boston’s resources and supportive services for creatives.

From DJs and art galleries throughout the building to engaging panel discussions, great food, and resource tables, City Hall Session #1: Boston’s Creative Future brought together artists, designers, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals for an evening of connection and discovery.

JGJ Designs is excited to take advantage of the City’s free consulting appointments and connect with its network of creative business consultants. We’re always looking for ways to strengthen our business, expand our resources, and continue growing as a boutique studio.

A big thank-you to the Mayor’s Office of Arts and Culture for creating opportunities like this for Boston’s creative community. What a great way to bring creatives together and highlight the resources available right here in our city!
