SO before we all start panicking or blaming the algorithm...here's what we know: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

There's been no change to Instagram's algorithm so we can't blame the algorithm (sorry!)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here is our hypothesis: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A natural dip in engagement is pretty usual around a new feature release like Reels. One because the new content type is competing for attention. Two because they will have added in changes to algorithm for Reels. A lot of people are experiencing the same.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But also with the fires on the West Coast of US people might be otherwise occupied and not engaging as much (we saw a similar thing here in Australia at the start of the year, and again when COVID first broke out and got really serious).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
