Dr. Alan Pearson has over 25 years experience as a vision therapy oriented optometrist, including postgraduate degrees in education (MEd) psychology (PhD) and fellowship (FCOVD). He has extensive computer science experience and has coded his own electronic health records system, interdisciplinary collaboration system, contact management system, patient portal and homework monitoring system, professional education tutorial system, and professional application and resource delivery and toolbox system. These projects have recently been consolidated as the Toolbox Lab, a research and development project in Human Computer Interaction for developmental professionals at the new EYE Center for Children’s Vision Learning and Technology at the University of Washington Bothell. Alan is co-founder of the EYE Center, along with professor Bill Erdly. Alan has been serving as the clinical adviser for the Children’s Vision Research Group (precursor to the EYE Center) for the past three years.
