Hi friends! It’s been a minute, eh? Since my last post, we restocked the flock and they’re finally earning their soy-free, marigold-infused feed around here 🥚Just in time for Easter, we have a huge surplus of fresh rainbow-ish eggs to share for $5/dozen. I’m trying out new containers… let me know what you think before I stock up on more 😉

Not sure if it’s the new nest box curtains, or the threat of ordering new chicks, but the hens are finally ramping up their production again. Who wants some farm-ish fresh eggs for their huevos rancheros this weekend? $5/dozen*

(*it’s muddy egg season, which means most of the eggs have been washed and promptly refrigerated. Want a bowl of pretty 🌈 eggs for your kitchen island? Lmk and I’ll be sure to save some unwashed ones for you 😉)

New address, new coop, same happy hens! The fluff butts are loving their new digs; we are loving the easier to manage set-up and are feeling downright spoiled by a water spigot *right next to* the coop (IYKYK)! A couple of our mature hens are straight-up freeloading, but at 6 years old, they’ve earned their retirement. Mostly light blues and greens in the egg basket these days, with a couple light pink and buff layers still earning their keep. With the kids’ early morning sports, we aren’t making as many weekend frittatas lately and have plenty to share (6 doz in the fridge).
$5/dozen, $3/half. Helps support their treat habit 😉

After 5 years of chicken-keeping, it STILL feels like Christmas every time I open the nest box doors 😍.

Egg production is supposed to slow down after 3 years, but our hens didn’t get the memo. Over half the flock is 4-5 years old and we are getting an avg of 9 eggs/day from our 14 hens. With the kids back in school full-time, we are back to breakfast on-the-fly (cereal) and we have an egg surplus for sale (gotta pay for their mealworm habit). Anybody want a dozen for the weekend? $5/doz or $3/half.

Hello my fresh-egg-loving friends! It has been ages since my last post... Here’s a quick update: the hens are still happy, and somehow there are more of them. Because 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 Our new ladies are laying eggs in beautiful shades of blue, sage, olive green, rich brown, and plain ‘ol brown. Because of the longer days (yay!), supplemental coop lighting and some new hens in the mix, we are collecting up to a dozen eggs a day. The bowl in the photo is from these last 4 days alone 😬

We’ve had lots of weekend visitors over the past few weeks to share our eggs with, but now we need your help! Buy some fresh eggs for the weekend - they’ll look beautiful on your counter and have you feeling spring vibes in no time 🥚💐 $5/dozen or $3/half dozen. Fresh eggs will stay fresh for weeks when left unwashed (especially if you keep them in the fridge)! Ping me if interested 🙂
