Congratulations to Micah and Kent Eveland, whose Backus-based business, Scamp Trailers/Eveland's Inc., has been named Minnesota's National Small Business Week award winner by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Known for its iconic camper trailer shape and the adventure-awaits possibilities it evokes, Scamp has carved out a strong market niche and has contributed richly to the Backus-area economy for more than five decades. That includes a 2006 setback when fire swept through the plant and destroyed inventory, equipment and paperwork.
