What a beautiful start to the fall season! It has been this weekend with the warm days and crisp nights. We couldn’t hold out any longer and had to go pick some honey crisp apples from and 🤩 them apples are delicious and enormous!!!

After some easy picking we of course had to stop by the barn for some cider and doughnuts!! Of course as beekeepers we had to take a stroll by the observation hive to take a look at the 👸 🐝. Then with all of that fun this morning for breakfast, Riley made us a special treat check out our stories to see!!!

Well the learning curve I’ve had milking Destiny 🐄 as a first time freshener took patience and seeing what worked well for us both.

At first I thought to myself what have I gotten myself into with the kicks, knocking over the pail, stepping on the hoses. I was starting to think that milking was not for me or maybe I need a different Cow but now at 12 days fresh (sense calving). She stands beautifully, milks out fast and gives about 7 gallons a day or 55lb-60lbs. Now I can say I enjoy milking her and her bull calf is growing great with a growth of 4.5lb a day 😮
