Fitness Forge gym, heading to a hard hat tour of The Gallery Tampa, surgical tour of HCA Florida Brandon Hospital, lunch at Strandhill Public Brandon and finally a tour of the newest Grease Monkey Valrico!

Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) is once again helping ensure children have access to nutritious meals during the summer months through its annual Summer Feeding Program, which offers free breakfasts, lunches and snacks at more than 150 locations throughout the county.

The program started on June 1 at HOST sites, with additional locations opening as summer programs get underway. Available to all children and teens ages 18 and younger, the meals are offered at no cost regardless of school enrollment status, and no registration is required.

District officials said the program is designed to bridge the gap for families who rely on school meals during the academic year. By providing convenient access to healthy food options throughout the summer, the district hopes to support student well-being while school is out of session.

At weekday on-site meal locations, children must be present to receive meals, and all food must be consumed on-site during designated serving times.

Seven Hillsborough County Public Schools seniors were honored for an extraordinary achievement: maintaining perfect attendance throughout their entire educational path, from kindergarten through 12th grade.

The students were recognized at the June 2 school board meeting in celebration of their dedication and commitment to their education.

To further recognize the achievement, Suncoast Credit Union honored each student with a $500 scholarship.

The students who earned the distinction of perfect attendance throughout their entire K-12 educational journey were Julius Montalvo of Gaither High School, Nathan Jorden of Lennard High School, Noah Jorden of Lennard High School, Amanda Harris of Newsome High School, Darius Donaldson-Dunphy of Plant City High School, Matthew Mason of Sickles High School and Sadie Jones of Sickles High School.

Valedictorian Mariel Custodio at Bell Creek Academy achieved a GPA of 8.98 and plans to attend the University of Florida.

Salutatorian Sofia Acebedo Ciro at Bell Creek Academy achieved a GPA of 8.36 and plans to attend Columbia University.

Valedictorian Samantha Perkins at East Bay High School achieved a GPA of 7.29 and plans to attend Kansas State University.

Salutatorian Shane Hollywood at East Bay High School achieved a GPA of 7.27 and plans to attend the University of South Florida.

Valedictorian Hao Tran of the traditional program at Lennard High School achieved a GPA of 8.58 and plans to attend the University of Florida or Georgia Tech.

Salutatorian Nicolas Salas of the traditional program at Lennard High School achieved a GPA of 8.10 and plans to attend Yale University.

Valedictorian Izabel Wiltz of the Collegiate Academy program at Lennard High School achieved a GPA of 8.39 and plans to attend the University of South Florida Honors College.
