Tomorrow, February 1, 2026 marks 40 years for me as a one-man graphic design studio. In the early days, when our daughters were born, I worked long hours, sometimes past midnight, sometimes 7 days a week. Having a home office meant I got to see them grow every single day. I'm so grateful for the clients, vendors and tech support who have always been there. In 1988, I got my first Mac (40MB hard drive and 4MB RAM!) and was one the first people in CT to begin to output files to film. I'm still working and I still enjoy it.

“If you’re wondering about what it is: The so-called economic blackout is a nationwide boycott set to take place on Friday, asking all Americans not to buy anything for 24 hours to combat skyrocketing prices across the nation and corporate greed. The protests are aimed at rising prices of just about everything, from housing and gas to food (best illustrated by the staggering cost of eggs, which now average $5.57 a dozen in the Midwest and $8.85 in California, according to commodities data from Expana). The soaring prices are the result of a combination of inflation, overall higher living costs, and our sluggish economy.”

On February 28, abstain from spending money at major retailers and corporations. Protest against rising prices, corporate greed, and economic inequality. By collectively withholding our spending power, we can demonstrate the economic influence of ordinary Americans and pressure businesses to adopt more equitable practices.

Here is a collection of ancient Celtic stencils from a book by Co Spinhoven. I scanned each copyright-free image and added each to a page with a colorful background. I then scoured the Internet and found Celtic poems and English translations and added those. Enjoy!

I've always been fascinated with ancient symbols. Here's part 2 of ones I've collected, scanned and placed on old stone backgrounds. Each features an ancient symbol pertaining to magic and mysticism. Each one in the gallery has an accompanying quotation. Enjoy!

For years, I have been fascinated by these early images from ancient Mexico thanks to several “clip art” books that I’ve owned for decades. The primary one used here is “Design Motifs of Ancient Mexico” by Jorge Enciso. The artwork is primitive and, at the same time, very modern. It certainly has strong elements of graphic design. While I want to share this artwork, I assembled these pages for my own enjoyment. The author and editor, Jorge Enciso, has fastidiously documented each item and where it was found and at the end of page, I’ve included this information for each image.
