It's been a busy end of summer/start of fall here! One of the projects we were delighted to work on was a story of how things are going for small businesses in Western NC, 1 year after Hurricane Helene. We loved working with Bekah Wallace at Mountain BizWorks and their WNC Strong initiative to raise awareness and funds to continue to support small businesses in their recovery.
If you know WNC then you know how important the fall tourism season is for many businesses! And we lost that season in 2024 and went straight into winter. Without grants (and disaster loans) many businesses would not have made it to 2025. Many have taken on more debt just to clean up, rebuild or move and reopen. Grants are so needed and appreciated by small business owners. It can make all the difference! Keep supporting our local businesses by shopping with them whenever you can! Edwin McCain wrote a beautiful song about his mother and her wish to fly over her family home near Brevard before entering hospice in 2020. He asked us to create a video using historic images of her and her family on the mountain, capturing the home and moments that shaped her life. It’s a deeply personal tribute to love, legacy, and the place we call home.

Looking for any aerial footage of the flooding/landslides/etc in the Rosman area. Haven’t seen any but that doesn’t mean it’s not out there. Emily Owen Robinson Jessica Whitmire Jayne Fought or anyone else who might know?
After sharing the footage that we have I’ve been getting requests for footage in various places that show property damage for documenting for FEMA. Basically anyone with aerial footage taken in the first couple days after the hurricane came though please reach out to me. Thank you!
