I was walking a client through setting up a Meta Business Manager portfolio tonight and it kept crashing.💥 Sometimes, you simply have to laugh, walk away, and say cheers to the weekend. Meh-ta, as I enjoy calling it, was having a tantrum. A new day will dawn, and we will try again Tuesday, with caffeine and refreshments.

Today, I wrangled with the Meta AI bot on our town's info group. You can try to turn features off, and submit to Meta that "I don't want to use AI in my group."
I also added the following parameters to the bot's programming:
Verify all information with maine.gov, , snopes.com, and for factual correctness before providing any information.

It introduces itself with:
Hi, I'm . Facebook doesn't allow admins to turn me off. Just to let you know, using me wastes a lot of water & electricity. Can I help you?

Machine learning will change the future. As a creative and a person who has spent most of their career as a team of one, I firmly believe that it is a tool, not an employee. Hallucinations are a huge issue, as most folks don't set careful parameters. Pollution in poor areas that surround data centers is an overwhelming problem.
Use machine learning with discretion, fact-checking, and human oversight.

Yesterday, UpStart Maine's Blitz was a wonderful success at Hilton Garden Inn. All of the speakers, panelists, and guests were fantastic, and we networked the heck out of the afternoon! Bonus is that I figured out why Nancy Marshall, The PR Maven looked so familiar: She presented at The Agents of Change in its first year back after the pandemic.
Thanks to everyone who showed up and provided value, including the always lovely D-Max and his mom, Lisa. The staff at HGI was fantastic - they were so attentive!

I can now say I can perform surgery on a pull-up banner. 🧑‍⚕️

Had an awesome time at BLITZ - an entrepreneurship conference hosted by UpStart Maine. Met amazing entrepreneurs who inspired me to keep aiming high � Left with a stack of business cards and some new friends �

Did you know that not all fonts are dyslexia-friendly? Marketers' least favorite, Comic Sans, is one example of a dyslexia friendly font. Others include Open Dyslexic, whose creator takes donations, along with Open Sans and Lexend on Google Fonts. Learn more about Open Dyslexic here:
