After 3 years of managing and creating social media content for dozens of clients, I have decided to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of this job.

Social media is an ever-changing medium that takes constant dedication, and with my husband's recent health changes, I just don't have the time to dedicate to it like I once did.

I will no longer offer any long term services, but I can still offer promotional plans, event management, campaigns, email or texting services, and website design for short intervals.

I really do appreciate everyone that has mentioned me to friends and other colleagues. I have learned so much as a small business owner, and woo-weeee, it has been a ride! Ready to jump on the Barbie Doll in a box trend? Open up ChatGPT and follow these steps below:

1) Upload Photo of yourself. Head shots are ok. ChatGPT will make up the rest.

2) Enter in a very descriptive prompt. Here is what I used:

Turn this photo into a realistic Barbie doll action figure in a colorful plastic toy box. Include accessories like snacks, energy drinks, iPhone and laptop. The box should say Jaclyn at the top, with the slogan Working Mom Mood in bold. Use bright pink and blue colors.

3) Wait patiently. πŸ™ƒ Then you can click on the picture and ask ChatGPT to make edits but be specific.

4) Thank your AI friend. They love it.

Here is what I got from the prompt above. Be sure and tailor it to your business or brand. Add accessories that make sense to you, example syringes, masks, or stethoscopes for a nurse. ChatGPT can also change your clothes or add accessories.

Welcome to the Age of the Lurker. πŸ₯Έ
The audience is still there, however, content is being consumed differently. The lurker is engaging quietly in silence. 67% of TikTok-ers NEVER post. Stories now have more completion rates than comment rates. Private and intimate conversations are now becoming more appealing than being loud with engagement.

What does that mean for your strategy? πŸ“ˆ
Creating a welcoming community will continue to be main task for 2025 social media managers and accounts. Public numbers will no longer be key indicators of success (likes and comments) but the number of DM's, shares or saves, and returning supporters will validate a brand's success.

What can you do now? βœ…
Set up a space for one on one conversations or instigate DM situations.
Get creative with engagement but not making it so obvious. (This will be a big change for me). No longer invite people to share, like or comment, but instead offer them choice to engage in chatting, private communities (groups or Discord), and a place to participate without having to be publicly seen (think polls, quizzes or choose an object in this post to see what it says about you).

It will be interesting to see how engagement will change in 2025. Together, we can figure out this roller coaster of social media and it's everchanging climate. ✌️

Community is πŸ‘ BIG πŸ‘ talk in the marketing world for 2025. But how in the world do you build one that is both social and beneficial?

So first, what is a community in marketing terms? A community is a group of individuals who share a common interest in a brand or product, actively engaging with each other and the brand itself, fostering a sense of belonging and loyalty, often through online platforms or forums, where they can interact, share experiences, and advocate for the brand to others.

Whoa. Long definition.

Short definition: a group of like minded individuals who like, believe, and want the same things who feel seen and heard by your brand/service. Pretty easy right? Yes an no.

First start by defining what your connection is. Connection is what your brand does besides selling products or services. Are you a car detailer that is really into "green" products" and earth conservation? That is a connection to your community. Do you have a Pitbull and are focused on changing their image and showing how loving these dogs are? That is a connection to your community.

What community is not:
πŸ‘Ž Membership/Subscriptions
πŸ‘Ž A large online audience
πŸ‘Ž High like counts and engagement

What community is:
πŸ‘ A person who sees themselves in your brand/service
πŸ‘ Friends tell their friends about your brand (not just product)
πŸ‘ Fans look for ways to get involved (trying your "green techniques/sharing or speaking about Pitbull awareness)

A great way to enhance your community is to use this technique from Pretty Little Marketer- build a mirror, not a wall. When you look in a mirror, you are being seen. Make your group/audience feel seen. The key to this is hammer in on that common connection point. Great examples of feeling seen:
βœ… Identify common pain point and make a meme about it.
βœ… Educational content that is unique to those with the "same brain" as you.
βœ… Use trends that are translated in your "community's language"
