It is with much regret that we have decided to pull the plug on the Brookhaven Flea Market for the remainder of the 2017 calendar year. We have not had the crowds that we expected and needed to support seventy vendor spaces. We actually had all seventy spaces sold for August 19 but it is not fair to our loyal vendors to continue the Flea Market. Obviously, the building location we chose did not attract the crowds we hoped for. We are already looking for an air conditioned building near a high traffic area for 2018. If the crowds won't come to us, we'll move near the crowds! I have mailed refund checks to the vendors who had already prepaid for August. I'm very sorry that I did a poor job of selecting our Flea Market location. We have invested an average of $800 per month in local advertising so obviously the location was part of the problem. We could not have had better support from Quinn Jordan and his staff at Lincoln Civic Center and I want to thank him for his extraordinary support. But I especially want to thank our loyal quality vendors for your support. We'll be back in touch before 2018 with our potential plans for a new air conditioned location near a high traffic area.
