I’m excited to share that I’ll be speaking at this year’s NYSRA’s Women in Hospitality Conference on June 2nd at Google’s St. John’s Terminal!

In business, communication doesn’t begin when we speak—it begins the moment we walk into the room. What we wear quietly signals credibility, confidence, approachability, and leadership long before a word is exchanged. Yet, most professionals have never been taught how to use this “silent language” intentionally. My session will show attendees how clothing functions as a strategic tool rather than a superficial one.

Beyond that, the lineup this year is truly incredible - so much so that I’ve asked if I could attend the entire conference myself!

If you’re a woman in hospitality, request an invitation and join me on June 2nd. It’s going to be great!

Imagine going to the hair salon and knowing EXACTLY what to ask for to make you look as young, bright, and vibrant as you feel.

That’s the power of knowing your best colors.

My client had been coloring her hair warm for years. But during her Color Analysis appointment in NYC we discovered that cool tones made her bright skin absolutely glow.

CUT TO TWO WEEKS LATER: She changed her hair color to harmonize with her natural undertones and got an instant glow-up.

In a matter of hours, she looked rested, healthier, and more lifted.

That’s what happens when your colors finally works WITH you instead of against you.

This is why Color Analysis is so much more than “what colors look nice on me.” The right colors can make your skin look brighter, your eyes clearer, and your overall appearance more youthful and energized.

And yes — that includes your hair color too!

If you’ve been thinking about booking a Color Analysis in Brooklyn, this is your sign to stop guessing and finally know what works for you.

Book your appointment through the link in my bio — and follow along for more real client transformations and color education ✨

“I want to look good, but I just want to live in comfy pants.”

If I had a dollar for every time someone said this to me, I’d probably own the brownstone in Clinton Hill I’ve been eyeing for years.

Hear me when I say this: looking good does NOT mean being uncomfortable! You can absolutely feel comfortable and look polished at the same time. I’m a Brooklyn personal stylist, not a torture advocate!

Trust me, I’m not running around New York City in stiff jeans and painful shoes all day. If my clothes are uncomfortable, I get cranky. And I don’t like myself when I’m cranky.

The problem usually isn’t that comfortable clothes “don’t exist.” It’s that most people have never been taught what to actually look for.

The right clothes:

- fit your shape
- fit your actual size
- use the right fabrics
- support your personal style
- and move with your life

Comfort doesn’t have to mean oversized, stretchy, or shapeless.

This is exactly what I help clients figure out through Style Analysis and Personal Shopping in Brooklyn: how to build a wardrobe that feels as good as it looks. Because you shouldn’t be dying to take your clothes off at the end of the day!

If you’re tired of choosing between cute and comfortable, schedule a free discovery call with me: https://max.houseofcolour.co.uk/book/21956-FernandaVazquez

This may surprise you, but there IS a right way and a wrong way to use your seasonal color swatch fan when you’re shopping.

Your swatch fan is meant to help you find the 2.5 million colors that look amazing on you. It is NOT an exhaustive list of every single color you can wear.

Here’s how to actually use it:

1️⃣ Open it all the way and look for harmony.

My client Hannah said it best: “do the vibes match?”

In other words: can you imagine that color looking harmonious with ALL the colors in your season?

Because all of your colors go together, if the answer is “yes with some colors, but not others,” then it’s probably not in your palette.

2️⃣ If you’re struggling to compare a color, cover the shades that are most similar so they don’t distract you.

Then ask yourself: “Could I pair this color with the rest of my season?”

Again, because all your colors work together, the answer should be YES.

And when you don’t have your fan with you? That’s when your color words come in. Memorize them like a mantra.

This is one of the biggest things we teach during Color Analysis at my Downtown Brooklyn NYC studio — not just WHAT your colors are, but how to actually find them confidently when you shop.

And if you don’t know your season yet, it’s time to book your Color Analysis in NYC! ✨

Save this post for your next shopping trip — and send it to the friend who keeps texting you fitting room photos.

You can be incredibly capable and STILL be underestimated.

Perception matters!

The way you communicate, carry yourself, speak in meetings, and present yourself visually all affect how seriously people take your ideas, how much they trust you, and whether they see you as a leader.

That’s why I’m excited to be co-hosting SHOWING UP SHARP with Judy Goldberg on May 28th at Pier 59 in Manhattan.

This breakfast workshop is designed to help you close the gap between how capable you are and how powerfully you’re perceived.

You’ll learn how to:
✨ strengthen your executive presence
✨ communicate with more authority
✨ increase your visibility without burning yourself out
✨ and use personal presentation intentionally, so the way you’re dressed reinforces the leader you already are

I’ll specifically be teaching about how style communicates credibility, confidence, and authority—before you even say a word.

🗓 May 28th
⏰ 9:00–10:30 AM
📍 Ryder Cup Room, Chelsea Piers Pier 59, Manhattan NYC

Spots are limited. Reserve your seat through the link in my bio — and send this to a friend or colleague who needs to be in this room with us.

You already know your color season. You have a pretty good idea of which colors are yours. Most of your wardrobe is in your colors already!

But every once in a while, you find yourself wanting to email me to double check whether a color is REALLY in your palette.

And when you look at your wardrobe, you realize that yes, technically you have a lot of colors in your season… but somehow you mostly wear the same 5-6 colors over and over again. 😳

And also? You LOVE your lipstick and your signature blush. But lately you’ve been craving something new…

My friend, it’s time for Advanced Color Analysis!

This is the appointment where everything starts to click into place.

After Advanced Color, you’ll be able to spot your colors with much more certainty, understand how to combine the colors in your palette in ways you may not have considered before, and create more varied makeup looks while still staying completely harmonious in your season.

This is where you go from “I know my season” to “OMG, I have the best season!”

And honestly? It’s one of the most fun appointments in the studio.

Book your appointment through the link in my bio, and I’ll see you in the studio!

New Yorkers are always curious about what’s on the real estate market. I don’t know a single Brooklyn local who doesn’t scroll StreetEasy every so often just to see if today’s the day a great place pops up. You don’t want to miss out.

The worst thing you can do is wait until two weeks before you have to move to start looking. You’ll settle, pick something less than ideal, and end up moving again in less than a year.

You might not need to move right now—you might be totally content. But if you get lucky and come across a great place in your budget that checks all the boxes, you jump on it.

Shopping for clothing should be the same.

You should always be browsing the racks, poppin’ into your favorite Brooklyn boutique to check out new inventory, scrolling their Instagram—even if you’re not looking for anything specific.

If you come across a great piece, in your budget, that’s an upgrade from what you have, you get it.

This keeps your closet current and takes the pressure off when you actually need something.

So shop for your closet like you do real estate: browse regularly, buy selectively.

Before I had an analysis done, I was desperately trying to figure out which colors looked best on me by DIY’ing my own color analysis.

This was well over 5 years ago. ChatGPT wasn’t a thing yet, and everything I knew about color came from reading blogs online.

This attempt got me nowhere, and I wasted a year of my life attempting to DIY something that I could have solved in two hours by getting analyzed by a professional.

You may not be running around the house draping yourself in different colors, but I know you have:

- tried uploading your photo to A.I. and asked what your season was…

- attempted to figure an outfit that looks good on you by Googling “outfits that hide the belly area…”

-purchased (and subsequently returned) hundreds of outfits in an attempt to find clothes that you actually feel good in, without never actually loving anything…

…all because you’re telling yourself that you’re too busy to carve out a couple of hours to actually come to your Color and/or Style Analysis appointment.

My friend, you can waste WEEKS of your precious time and mental energy by not carving out the time to come learn what looks best on you!

Taking a morning for yourself will cost you a lot less than second guessing yourself every time you get dressed, saving you a lot of your precious time over the long run.

Invest a couple of hours this week to get hundreds back later. I promise you’ll be glad you did!

Book your appointment in the link in my bio.
