came out with an iconic commercial featuring Kevin Durant and and it had A1 acting from Drake, funny dialogue, a debut of a 🔥 show, and even several breaks in the 4th wall. What I didn’t like about this commercial is that it ended with “Everyone Needs A Yes Man” which kind of freaked me out considering we’re in the express lane to the apocalypse because of yes men all over the world. I don’t usually associate with follower behavior or with just falling in line. Is this in reference to a pop culture thing that I’m not aware of. I think it’s an excellent collab and sneaker but I can’t help but feel the closing message isn’t setting Nike up to be best in class.

Not all social media platforms are built the same! They all have different audiences and personalities. When deciding on which platforms to post on, think about what the ethos is of that platform and what audience is it known for reaching. is your polished millennial bestie. Think of it like your second website and digital home base. is great for scale and reaching going people. is community and conversation oriented. is where you can shine as a though leader and with educational insights. is video Google which essentially reaches everyone from iPad babies to boomers. socialmediamarketing

I empathize with creators who get that first taste of social media money and start making more content for brands. As a creator, it takes work to create a balance between commerce and creativity. Especially when you’re now a content creator, a creative director for a branded content studio, and a sales person. There’s so much money to be made in the creator economy, so I’ll NEVER hate on anyone getting to the bag on these apps. These app are paying creators a tiny fraction of what they make from advertisers. I love that TikTok shop has created new revenue opportunities for people to make money outside of just views. However, the incentive to sell things is greater when it’s rewarded by the algorithm and your bank account.

There is so much ingenuity in this world begging to be brought to life through the creative genius of women. I’ve been lucky to see so many women alchemist their visions into reality but I’ve also seen women who have let their ideas die on the vine because of confidence. I’ve definitely been that woman before but I’ve been making an effort to honor the ideas that want to come through me and that I want to be made manifest through me. So much of our world could be enhanced by the vision and imagination of women who are looking to help us solve real and existential problems

Marketing used to be an exercise in curating and creating what was new and next but now it’s turned into a soulless data driven hellscape where brands talk at their audience instead of with their audiences. Culture is more accessible to brands but they seem further from it than ever. Marketing used to make the trends, then they sponsored the trends to create unique experiences, now brands just hop on trends and in comments. They need to be talking WITH their audiences not AT them. If brands want to go back to this era they’ll have to bring back diverse and nuanced voices into positions of power, or give opportunities for new talent to infuse new energy. Right now marketing feels stale and not exciting like how it did when I was coming up.

Millennials need to take back the Internet to bring some decorum back to the Internet. I was highly impacted by a video that came out last year by on digital pollution. I’ll put a link to it in the comments. The internet is a place and we must treat it as such. I think millennials opting out of showing up on the internet is a mistake because we have the grounding to bring it back to a better place. We kinda messed it up anyways 😩 both and are millennials

We believe most people already have what it takes to be a great marketer. But when the time comes to talk about ourselves and what we do, so many of us hit a mental roadblock. Instead of thinking about marketing yourself as a product, approach it the same way you would approach making a new friend. Hats off to kima.Ali for starting the trend to share how we’re all navigating this unsure time. As a business owner we’ve had to pivot our business to work with smaller businesses and independent creative and it’s been one of the most fulfilling times of my career (but not for our bank accounts.) Taking all the knowledge from our 20+ year careers and giving it to fearless thoTugh leaders and creatives has been the work of a lifetime.
