What I learned from 30 days on Clubhouse with
1. Always be prepared - whatever your version of prepared looks like - be READY! For me is a short list of:
Topic
Main takeaway
Points to touch
Questions to ask
2. You can be the best YOU, don’t try to be a good SOMEONE ELSE
It would be pointless for me to try to be like Chris, Jule, or Lola. I am better of being the best Martha Cristina around. It’s cheesy but I know is true.
3. People > Outlines
Some of my calls went to a completely different direction, like when my brother told his testimonial, and it was OK because I am more interested in being present and of service than following a plan.
4. Be open to trying something new
I deeply believe that stories are the best way to learn lessons, however this month I tried new ways of doing rooms, I was open, did research and chose topics that were different or new, I did it with an open mind.
5. Be ready to be challenged and have an open mind
I loved hearing perspectives that were sometimes opposed to mine, and also challenging some of the ideas shared, it was enriching.
6. Focus on brining value
I respected our audience so much that my #1 goal was to make a call packed of gold nuggets, we prepared researched, read, and I am a better and smarter human for it.
7. Make it cozy & conversational , BUT add some structure
I love how magical and engaging the rooms felt, I loved that my rooms where the stickiest (not so humble brag lol) but I love that I was able to add more structure and order to them. I used to think that structure would make the room sterile, it’s the opposite, it makes it richer.
I am very thankful to Chris for his generosity and it was a month where I learned and grew so much.
And I am so glad that I got to hang out with both .co and and that I got to meet both in person by traveling to their cities, talk about perfect timing ❤️🙌🏽
What have been your biggest takeaways from Clubhouse? What other topics would you like me to talk about?
Excited to keep going.
With fire & grace,
Martha
