It’s been 10 years since I:
• Moved from DC to Colorado with my husband
• Started freelancing after struggling to find a full-time role
• Took the leap and formed Amy Darling Design LLC
• Began picking up my nieces from school every Tuesday (they were 7 and 4!)
• Discovered how much I love working with a mix of clients and brands
• Realized how much flexibility matters to me

A decade later, I’m still doing all of these things (and my nieces are now 17 and 14!). I am still very much in love with my graphic design work and my freelance lifestyle, even when months (or years!) are slow, and am feeling a lot of gratitude.

To my past and current clients, and to everyone who has sent a referral or recommended my work: THANK YOU. Your trust has made this possible.

And to my former coworkers from my full-time roles: THANK YOU for the skills, teamwork, and camaraderie that helped shape who I am as a designer now.

And to my fellow designers and gig workers: THANK YOU for the inspiration, the encouragement, the education, and all the conversations over coffee that keep our creativity (and probably our sanity!) flowing. Here’s to the next 10!

My mom brought the watercolors…my nieces brought the fun 😜. And before it starts snowing I wanted to share watercolor leaf prints we made about a week ago.

It would be great if I knew the names of the trees in my sister’s backyard in Boulder but I do not. But if you look really closely the little tiny dot pattern in lavender is from a sage leaf!
