Recent video images of recent SpaceX Starship 36 explosion debris contaminating our water, disrupting wildlife on national protected refuge and zero regard or accountability for damages to our environment and surrounding areas. Our homes 20 miles away were rattled by this explosion and our safety is at risk. Not to mention there is Texas and Rio Grande LNG construction just 3 miles away by the Port of Brownsville at risk for pipe impact and potential future explosions. 🚨 A stark reminder of the risks we face. Yesterday’s “unscheduled disassembly” of SpaceX Starship 7, which lost control and exploded over the West Indies, highlights the potential dangers of experimental technology.

Now imagine permitting this *25 times a year*—increasing production and imposing stricter deadlines, leaving more room for error. What if the debris had fallen into residential areas or neighboring countries? The risks extend far beyond our community, potentially impacting lives globally.

As a former supporter of SpaceX, I’ve grown increasingly concerned about our safety and future. I love my home and prioritize the safety of my children. My perspective changed the moment I became a parent—I will always fight to protect the place where they grow up.

🌎 Today, Brownsville, Cameron County, and Hidalgo County came together to voice concerns about SpaceX’s latest permit request, which could further damage our public beaches, wildlife, and oceans. The decision-makers are not from our region, yet they determine the fate of lands our families have called home for generations.

🌊 This is more than just a local issue—this is about protecting our environment, our waters, and our way of life. We must continue showing up in numbers, because together, our presence speaks louder than words!

A huge thank you to the local organizations working tirelessly for our community’s future.
