Over 22 years and counting. Currently sitting in the car trying to stop crying as I look through the photos in my phone of this beautiful woman. After high school graduation she was there with me. Went off to college and she stayed. At my military basic training ceremony she was there running and taking photos as I was running with the guide on. Two tours in Iraq and she was still there. Sending soo many snacks in the mail my entire platoon was even excited for when I received packages. I didn’t have a place to stay after my second tour in Iraq. So before I came back to the states, she had a home ready for me as she picked our first apartment; had the lease signed and the keys ready for us. We planned three beautiful girls down to the month. Without her, our lives and household would literally fall apart. I can keep going but this post would be too long. We have built a wonderful life with one another and still have much more to experience with one another. Happy anniversary Mrs. McDuffie. 143 ❤️

🇺🇸 Today isn’t about sales or barbecues. It’s about sacrifice. As a retired combat veteran, Memorial Day holds a deeply personal meaning for me. We will always remember the faces, the names, and the stories of brothers and sisters who never made it home.

Their courage, their sacrifice, and their love for this country deserve more than one day—but today, we honor them.

Please take a moment to pause, remember, and reflect.

We live because of those who gave everything.

The 2nd annual Cuts For Mental Health with the Buffalo Police Department was a great success! Just look at all the smiles and laughter captured in these photos! Mental health is very invasive and extremely personal. Being in a relaxed & casual setting makes it easier to have a conversation and/or simply provide information regarding the many great programs the city has regarding mental health & awareness. —— Thank you very much to my brother Kenny Allen for working soo hard and conducting such a wonderful event. ——— Thank you to our brother Kenny Harris for opening up his business and providing such a great service to our community. —— A very special thank you to Mayor Chris Scanlon , Commissioner Alfonso Wright, Deputy Commissioner Patrick Overdorf, Chief Tommy Champion, Health & Wellness Cordinator Matt Cross , and all the wonderful members of the Buffalo Police Department who took time to attend this event during such a busy holiday weekend. Outstanding!!!

Almost outliving my father at 40 years old today! Only if my father can see what I have now become. So much more to do. I never thought I’d make it to 20 let alone 40 years old. With everything I’ve seen and been through, I am so happy and I feel so blessed. I am extremely optimistic of my next chapter in life! In my 40’s I will work harder all while making more time for my wife & children. I will be healthier, and I will do my best to help more people. God has truly blessed me so I have to do much more in Gods name. The big 40!

From the Airforce to Army Infantry. It goes by fast and we miss it forever. The reason why my wife and children are at home safe and sound is because of all of you brave, crazed, highly trained, motivated, dedicated, patriotic, wonderful soldiers! If we fail, if we do not do what we do, we simply will not be safe. Be proud as you are all very special! Thank you! Happy Veterans Day!!

I am so fortunate to work with such an amazing group of people. As a result of the sheer amount of calls generated in our city, our BPD dispatchers are some of the most highly skilled in the entire country. You’re all wonderful! Congratulations!

Celebrity NFL Barber Kenneth Allen will be providing free haircuts for mental health to members of the Buffalo Fire Dept. The Unity Police Organization will also have dessert, coffee and mental health literature available on site.

According to research, while under a vast amount of stress, one of the first indicators is our physical appearance. Having a nice haircut and/or a fresh shave can have very positive psychological benefits regarding stress and mental health.

A Buffalo Police Dispatcher, James Porter, has been fighting for his life these past few weeks. James was diagnosed with Lupus in 2016, and kidney failure in 2020. As a result of multiple health conditions, James was unfortunately placed in an induced coma with low brain activity. Most are unaware of this but James always wanted to be a Police Officer. He actually would’ve had a very good chance; consequently, his health conditions always prevented him from doing so. In that, James was very excited when he was hired as a Buffalo Police Dispatcher. According to his Lieutenant and the people he worked with, he was excellent while on the job. James was a shoulder for most while battling his own illness. The type of man who lights up the room when he walks in. He was a father of 4, and a true Bills fan. Any donations at this time will be given to his children. We thank you all very much for your love and support.
