Building a business can feel surprisingly lonely.

Even when you have clients, employees, contractors, networking groups, and a calendar full of meetings, there are still plenty of decisions that land squarely on your shoulders.

Marketing decisions are often among them.

Should we update the website?

Do we need to be on another platform?

Is this campaign worth the investment?

Are we saying the right thing?

Why does everyone seem to have a different opinion?

There is no shortage of advice. The harder part is knowing which advice fits your business.

That is why the right support matters.

Not someone who takes over and leaves you out of the process.

Not someone who hands you a list of things to do and disappears.

And definitely not someone who makes marketing sound far more complicated than it needs to be.

The best support feels like having a trusted guide beside you. Someone who can help you think through the next step, point out what you may be missing, celebrate what is working, and remind you that you do not have to figure out every single thing on your own.

I have always loved the relationship side of marketing. The conversations. The collaboration. The moment when a business owner begins to see a path forward and gets excited about what is possible.

You may be leading the climb, but that does not mean you have to climb alone.

Who are the trusted people you turn to when you need help making an important business decision?

07/07/2026

Are you leading your marketing, or are you simply funding it?

I love marketing. I love the strategy behind it, the creativity, the problem solving, and the moment when all the pieces finally begin working together.

But I also know that most small business owners did not start their businesses because they wanted to become marketers.

They started because they were great at something. They had a skill, an idea, a service, or a product they believed in. Then, somewhere along the way, they realized they also had to figure out websites, social media, email, SEO, advertising, content, branding, and about 47 other things.

It is no wonder marketing can begin to feel like something you simply pay for and hope is working.

You may have a freelancer, an employee, or an agency handling the day-to-day work, and that can be a wonderful thing. Business owners should not have to do everything themselves.

But you should understand enough to ask good questions.

Why are we using this platform?

Who are we trying to reach?

What do we want them to do next?

How does this activity support the goals of the business?

What are we learning from the results?

You do not need to know every tactic, trend, or algorithm. But you should be able to participate in the conversation and feel confident about the decisions being made on behalf of your business.

That is one of my favorite parts of the work I do. Helping business owners understand their marketing well enough to lead it, even when someone else is helping execute it.

So, let me ask you:

How involved are you in your marketing decisions right now?

This episode of the InPowered Women Podcast was so much fun!

I had the chance to sit down with Tomeka Thomas, co-founder and Director of Operations of The Roof Clinic, and I have to tell you, this conversation made me laugh, think, and appreciate the winding roads that lead us exactly where we’re supposed to be.

Tomeka’s path from insurance to commercial roofing CEO is such a good story. We talked about business, marriage, motherhood, government contracting, relationships, leadership, and what it really looks like to build something with heart and grit.

She is smart, funny, grounded, and so easy to root for.

I loved this conversation, and I think you will too.

Check it out:

Some podcast conversations feel like business strategy.

Some feel like catching up with a friend.

This one somehow managed to be both.

My conversation with Tomeka Thomas of The Roof Clinic was full of laughter, wisdom, real talk, and a few unexpected stories, including how a career path can shift in ways you never saw coming.

Coming soon on the InPowered Women Podcast. Stay tuned!

I’ve been thinking a lot about how people find businesses now.

Not just on Google. Not just through social media. But through AI.

You probably have some idea of where your business shows up on Google. You may even know which social posts are getting the most likes, comments, and shares.

But have you checked how your business shows up in AI search?

Because this is becoming a very real visibility question.

People are asking ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, and other AI tools for recommendations, comparisons, and guidance.

So now we have to think beyond:
ā€œCan people find me online?ā€

We also have to ask:
ā€œCan AI understand what I do, who I serve, and why I’m a strong option?ā€

That’s where things get really interesting.

Your website, content, reviews, FAQs, service pages, social proof, and online consistency all start to matter in a bigger way.

And honestly, I think this is such an exciting opportunity for businesses that are willing to pay attention early.

So I’m curious…

Have you checked how your business shows up in AI search yet?

There are some conversations that are just plain special… and this is one of them.

In this latest episode of the InPowered Women podcast, I had the absolute joy of sitting down with Sharon Lee Thony. Yes… another Sharon Lee

We talk about leadership, growth, and what it really looks like to evolve in your career… not in a straight line, but in a way that actually shapes who you become along the way.

It’s thoughtful, it’s real, and it’s a conversation I think a lot of women will see themselves in.

Thank you again to everyone who continues to support these conversations and the women who are willing to share their stories.

The women of Iron Forums in Flowery Branch are growing... literally! šŸ’—

Today, we got to surprise one of our members with a little baby shower as we get ready to welcome Baby Snyder, and it was such a fun moment. We played a baby-themed round of ā€œWould You Rather?ā€, laughed a lot, and spoiled Momma with a few pampering gifts just for š˜©š˜¦š˜³.

And while we definitely had some fun, we also did what this group does so well. We spent time sharpening our leadership skills with a conversation around cash flow, along with our monthly Snapshot discussions that help us take an honest look at our businesses and where we’re headed.

That’s what I love so much about this community. We can talk leadership, business strategy, and growth, and still make plenty of room for joy, friendship, and showing up for each other in real life.

If you’re a Christian female business owner, CEO, or entrepreneur, we’d love to have you join us sometime. We meet monthly at Reunion Country Club, and I’d be so happy to share more details. Just send me a message!

Well… this one was an InPowered Women Podcast first! 😊

I had the absolute best time sitting down with… another Sharon Lee. Yes, really.

What started as a ā€œwe have the same name, we should probably meetā€ moment somehow turned into a full-blown conversation about entrepreneurship, taking risks, motherhood, and what happens when you stop waiting until everything is perfectly figured out.

And let me just say…Sharon Lee Thony has stories.

From building and selling a company… to buying it back… to navigating all the twists in between, this one is equal parts insightful and just plain fun.

New episode coming soon! You’re going to love this one.

The newest episode of the InPowered Women Podcast is here, and this one is especially fun for me. I was able to sit down with Rachael Horn, Growth Partner at Vye Agency, a marketing powerhouse doing impressive work in Nashville and beyond.

We talked marketing, growth strategy, AI, yoga, career pivots, and yes…the fact that she also happens to be my niece made this conversation even more special.

A big thank you to Megan Kuhl with Perfect Search for sponsoring this episode. Take a listen, this one is lively, insightful, and full of great energy.
