Such emotions watching the last night as it was such a different reality. I was brought to tears during the In Memorium tributes as they flashed a lovely photo of my former boss Nanci Ryder across the screen, who passed away this summer due to ALS. The Hollywood Reporter has her legacy feature, the link is in my bio. Nanci gave ME my first job in the entertainment industry - I had been in LA for less than a year when her amazing then assistant Steven Huvane landed me an in person interview with her! The interview started with her BWR partner Paul Baker, who after about an hour of talking PR strategy and number crunching brought me in to meet Nanci. She had two of the cutest little white Maltese dogs in her private office who both jumped on me and sat on my lap during the interview. One of dogs Nanci called Pea for Sweet Pea kept jumping up and trying to lick my face during the interview. After about 10 mins with Paul still in the office Nanci says to Paul, “Well Pea certainly likes her I guess we should hire her!” And that was the start of my amazing entertainment career working at one of the absolute top Entertainment PR Agencies in the Industry ever! Thank you and may you rest in paradise Nanci - you are forever loved and remembered. 💕
