Studying Russell Brunson’s latest edition of Dotcom Secrets this morning and something hit me that I don’t think many marketers realize when they are thinking up their offer.
One of my favorite thought projects to ask a group of marketers is this: “If you owned a hamburger stand and could have one wish to make sure your business thrived, what would you wish for?”
A lot of people will say better buns or tastier beef or a special sauce that sets them apart. But the single best answer, hands down, is a hungry crowd.
To prove this point, I want to share something I heard Cordia Harrington share at SuperConference in Dallas last year. She had just taking over a failing McDonalds and was looking for a way to succeed. Not wanting to admit defeat, she decided to create her own hungry crowd by doing the most ingenious thing I’ve ever heard. She bought the greyhound station and moved the bus stop to be in the parking lot of her restaurant.
Talk about a bold, and ultimately insanely successful move. She created her own hungry crowd and saved her business.
Think about that when you’re promoting your products. Cold traffic is a lot more than just the people scrolling Facebook. Where is your hungry crowd hanging out? That’s where you should be spending your time and energy. And if they don’t hang out somewhere, go create a hungry crowd yourself.
