It's been an exceedingly busy summer. My main focus for the last six months was on the Burlington Brawl wrestling fundraiser for Veterans. I made both the light fixture above the ring as well as the stage entrance. The light fixture had 4 large UFO lights plus an interior back-lit setup to give the "BRAWL" text some character. The lighted marquee on the stage entrance was more traditional, featuring 119 individual led bulbs. It was excessively time consuming, but I'm very proud to say next year will be even more amazing.

I believe this is my greatest restoration by far. This belonged to the customer's grandfather, what's known as a smoking stand. The top drawer was cracked and had zero integrity left, the top was a Mahogany veneer that was left very water damaged, and all the legs had either missing or broken nails holding it together. With a little naughty aussie magic, fresh roll of Mahogany and a whole lot of love she's back in action. Please let me know what you think in the comments!

Completely Brilliant! The greatest sign in the history of signs, maybe ever!
-You, dear reader

This is one of my highest level project completions. At 32" wide and 25" tall, this is a multi-layered white oak sign. The lumber was sourced from the owner's own property years ago and dried in preparation. It's a thing of beauty, taking rough sawn lumber and transforming the gritty reality of a harsh winter into the illustrious desire of a warm hearth. Trimmed in black with a warm oil glow, you would be hard-pressed to find anything better to represent your home away from home. I am very proud and blessed to have this notch in the belt. This 70 year old end table needed love. Small pieces of furniture don't need to be tossed, burned, or churned. Solid wood and craftsman joinery means it'll live another 70 years. The money spent on an acute restoration far and away defeats replacing your ikea press board table multiple times over, leaving free money to purchase higher quality furniture... remember to "buy once, cry once"

What can I say except I drool over the wonderful tones of this "Bombay Mahogany" finish. I almost didn't want to give this piece back!

Furniture refinishing at a price that makes sense! You wouldn't buy a $1,000 be**er from a dealership with "Budget" in the name and expect it to last until the next generation, so why do you do that with furniture? Let me work my magic and bring yours back to life!

In the case of this incredibly resilient oak dresser turned vanity, it almost made 100 years without a proper repair and refinish job. I carefully brought it home and with a teaspoon of wood glue, a tablespoon of coffee, and cup of finish delivered back to this family a product I am extremely proud of. Even more impressive this is a veneered product. Yes, veneer, a product most won't dare touch.

It doesn't matter to me how small your refinish job is. If it means the world to you, whether it be a family heirloom or a Craigslist find from 12 years ago, we can do either small repairs or full overhauls. From a dude that shops at the same local stores you also loiter, I promise I won't make you sell your last remaining kidney for the work either.

Perhaps not a brand new marriage, but a celebration of the wonderful love that the bond of marriage can offer is at hand...

Perhaps not a brand new marriage, but a celebration of the wonderful love that the bond of marriage can offer is at hand!

During the month of December I send elves from the north pole in droves to all the local lumber suppliers to find the most illustrious examples they can. They don't stop raiding and pillaging until we have the most desirable and highest quality blanks in hand.

From there the elves endure hours of sanding and preparation. Hours turn to days, preparation turns to progress, and finished products start rolling down the north pole assembly line. The elves are great at what they do, some might even say the best! We have completed some truly amazing work the past couple weeks. The page might have been quiet, but in the shop we have been burning the candle at both ends so the elves can go home soon!

I can only post Christmas gifts that have been given 😂. Belated congratulations to the Botsfords! Woohoo!!
