In politics, perception is everything. And voters see your campaign before they ever hear from you.

Emails get ignored. Texts get filtered. Phone calls go unanswered. So what actually gets through to voters? Direct mail. When a mailer shows up in the mailbox, the voter has to physically pick it up and look at it.

Even if it goes from the mailbox to the recycling bin in ten seconds, somebody still picked it up and looked at it. Their eyes hit your candidate’s name, your headline, and your message. That impression happened before they ever decided whether to keep reading. You can’t say that about a call nobody picks up or an email that never got opened.

That’s why design matters so much in political mail. You only get a few seconds, so the piece has to make its point quickly and give the voter something to remember. We’ve designed political mail for candidates and committees in New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and beyond, and we know how to make those few seconds count.

Palm Cards Still Win Doors 🗳️
Your field team knocks thousands of doors this cycle. What they leave behind matters as much as what they say.

Digital gets the headlines, but the palm card remains one of the hardest working pieces in a campaign's toolkit. Here's why it deserves real attention in your plan.

✅ It enforces message discipline. Limited space keeps the candidate and every volunteer on the same three or four points. If it can't fit on the card, it won't land at the door.

📸 It builds recognition fast. A strong, professional photo paired with clean design helps voters connect a face to the name, especially for down ballot and first time candidates.

📱 It bridges field and digital. A QR code turns a 30 second doorstep conversation into a trackable visit to the website, donation page, or volunteer signup.

🧲 It stays in the house. Ads get scrolled past. A well designed palm card ends up on the fridge or counter and keeps working long after canvassers move on.

🔁 It works everywhere. Doors, events, lit drops, and poll greeting all run on the same piece, which makes it one of the most cost efficient items in the budget.

The best palm cards aren't an afterthought. They're designed with the same strategy as the rest of the campaign.

We can’t always show off some of our best work. Many of our political designs are produced white label for consulting firms, and confidentiality is part of the deal. We often work under non-disclosure agreements, which means some of the work we’re proudest of never makes it into our portfolio.

Voters judge your campaign before they read a single word. The first glance at a mailer, yard sign, palm card, or website sparks a gut reaction. Color, contrast, and layout do that work instantly, and they shape how people feel about a candidate long before the message sinks in.

❤️ Red signals energy, strength, and urgency

💙 Blue conveys trust, stability, and confidence

🩶 Gray reads as serious, professional, and authoritative

💜 Unexpected colors help a campaign stand out, especially when they tie back to the candidate, the community, or the message

The key is intention. A color should never be picked because it "looks nice." It should reinforce the campaign's tone, speak to its audience, and reflect the candidate's personality.

Consistency matters just as much. Your palette should carry across everything voters see, from logos and direct mail to signs, digital ads, apparel, and event materials. When every piece looks like it belongs together, the campaign sticks in people's minds.

The right colors make a campaign feel polished, credible, and deliberate. The wrong ones make it feel scattered and easy to forget.
