Here’s a more in depth breakdown of my Czech 1250s (which are the same as the Zenair 1150s).

With this setup it takes me about 4 hours to go from spring gear to amphibious floats.

Whatever she chooses, we’ll be right there cheering her on.

For now, she’s just our little girl standing in front of a Kitfox, with an entire future ahead of her. 🤍

Alright, we’ve got quite a few new faces around here, so I figured it’s probably time to introduce myself again.

I’m Ty Ferkin, one half of Ferkin Air. The other half is my wife, Haylee, who keeps me somewhat organized and makes sure I actually post things on the internet.

I’ve been around airplanes for as long as I can remember. I’m pretty sure “airplane” was one of my first words, which probably explains a lot. 😂

I’ve been a pilot for 17 years now and I spent about 10 of those years crop dusting. These days I’m a husband, dad, and airplane guy who spends a whole lot of time flying my Kitfox and traveling with my family in our 182.

Ferkin Air started with that same love of aviation. We’re currently an E-Props distributor, but airplanes have always been about a lot more than just selling parts for me.

I genuinely enjoy talking airplanes, learning how they work, figuring out what makes them perform better, and helping other pilots get the most out of theirs.

So if you’re here because you’re building, flying, modifying, dreaming about, or just completely obsessed with airplanes…

This is what the actuator rod looks like passing through the gearbox on my Rotax 912.

The E-Props Constant Speed (Glorieuse) propeller works with both Type 2 and Type 3 gearboxes. In other words, if you’ve got any Rotax 9XX series engine, you can have a constant speed E-Prop.

Most 912s and many 914s were built with the Type 2 gearbox that would only support a ground adjustable prop or a heavy electric constant speed.
However, the E-Props constant speed will bolt right on to this gearbox and give you lightweight, reliable constant speed performance without having to modify your engine or gearbox.
