Dear Friends:

My name is Brendon Thompson I’m a fellow Lake of the Ozarks resident, business owner of Camden Creative, I completely understand the knee-jerk reaction to major change. It’s natural to worry about traffic, noise, and whether the place we love will lose its soul. These are sincere, valid concerns from people who care deeply about our home.

However as someone who has a career in looking at and analyzing data, trends, and the long-term trajectory of our community, I see a different, incredibly bright picture for us to consider. This isn't just about a theme park; it’s about a massive rising tide that is going to lift every single “boat” in our harbor.

Here is a different perspective on why Oasis and the surrounding developments are a major win for all of us:

1. Infrastructure, Safety, and City Attention:

Major developments act as a catalyst for municipal investment. When big projects come in, they bring massive infrastructure upgrades that the city and state fund—upgrades that would otherwise take decades to secure.

Roads & Traffic:

Expect smarter traffic management, widened thoroughfares, and optimized city streets to handle flow.

Safety & Security:

Increased tourism brings an influx of resources for our local law enforcement and first responders. This means more presence, better equipment, and an even safer environment for our families year-round.

2. The Sound and Science of Oasis:

The concern over noise and air pollution is real, but the actual geography of the project tells a different story.

Acoustic Design:

Because Oasis is being built on a slope moving toward the lake, topography and physics work in our favor. Sound travels differently on inclines, and the natural basin effect will help contain some of the audio created from the park.

Green Buffers:

The developers at Oasis are investing heavily in extensive landscaping, native tree planting, and green barriers. This isn't just for aesthetics; it acts as a massive, natural acoustic and environmental buffer for neighboring residents and restaurants.

3. The Economic "Bread and Butter" Ecosystem:

Tourism is the lifeblood of the Lake of the Ozarks. A project like Oasis stabilizes our economy long-term, turning us from a seasonal destination into a resilient, year-round economic powerhouse.

The Ripple Effect:

The traffic generated by Oasis directly feeds our local ecosystem. It means filled rooms for condos and apartments, packed tables at our restaurants, and a massive demand for service businesses.

Micro-Economy Booms:

This will supercharge demand for water and land taxi services, property maintenance, meal delivery services, and retail shopping.

4. A Community-Wide Rising Tide:

Oasis isn’t happening in a vacuum. Look at the incredible lineup of developments and projects eagerly coming to our Lake over the next few years that are going to reshape our convenience and quality of life (this BTW is a very short list of the coming developments):

The New Bass Pro Shop: A massive anchor for high-end, eco-conscious tourism.

Tucker Developments’ New Project: The highly anticipated development next to Neon Taco.

Chick-fil-A & Expanded Dining: Bringing highly requested, convenient options right to our backyard.

Local Expansion:

Exciting local growth like Lil Rizzo’s coming to Camdenton, proving that corporate growth fuels local expansion.

Residential & Commercial Complexes:

Multiple new multi-family housing projects and retail spaces are slated to break ground, increasing our overall property values and giving us more places to shop, eat, and play without driving an hour away.

5. Keeping Our Families Here (The Ultimate Win):

The biggest threat to our community isn't traffic—it’s the export of our youth. For years, our kids and grandkids have grown up, looked around, and realized they had to move to Springfield, St. Louis, or Kansas City or out of state to find diverse, high-paying career paths.
The influx of these major developments creates a diverse job market. We aren't just talking about seasonal hourly jobs; we are talking about tech jobs, management, marketing, logistics, specialized maintenance, hospitality executives, and construction careers. This gives our kids and grandkids a reason to stay, build lives here, and keep our families together.

6. Funding Our Schools and Future:

Every single ticket sold, meal served, product and souvenir bought contributes to our local tax base. This financial influx goes directly into funding our local schools, improving educational resources, upgrading public parks, and bettering our overall living conditions.

The Bottom Line:

We live here. We go to Church here. We shop here. We work here. We want to preserve the magic of the Lake of the Ozarks just as much as anyone else. But progress doesn't have to mean destruction. With the right planning, the Oasis theme park and the wave of coming attractions will elevate our quality of life, secure our financial future, and ensure our lake remains the greatest place in the Midwest to live, work, and raise our families.

Let's welcome the growth and shape it together!
