Call me old fashioned but I still take hand written notes during every client call 🤭

There’s just something different about putting pen to paper.
That’s how all my design projects start too.

I was genuinely sad when this local business replaced its original logo with AI slop and I meant what I said, not only as a designer, but as a customer who cared about the brand.

They were understandably offended but after printing the new AI branding on everything, they eventually returned to their original identity.

Sometimes the most valuable design feedback is also the hardest to hear.

You can personally love every element you chose, but that doesn’t automatically make it strategic. Good design isn’t just about what you like…it’s about what communicates clearly, builds trust, and truly reflects your business.

So many female founded brands are getting ready to launch with refreshed identities and custom websites that genuinely put their competition to shame.

When I say a lot of industries are still behind online, I mean far behind… confusing navigation, zero brand experience, outdated menus, generic templates, and websites filled with obvious AI slop.

Investing in a strategic rebrand and a custom website is one of the simplest ways to stand out, build trust, and make choosing your business feel like the obvious decision among competitors.

I’ve seen this play out hundreds of times and it’s got me feeling sick.

A female founder gets on a call excited about the opportunity to work together. She sees the vision, understands the strategy, and knows the investment could move her business forward.

Then she takes the idea home, shares the details, and suddenly the opportunity is framed as reckless, unrealistic, or completely out of touch.

A “what were you thinking”? kind of moment.

Just like that, she goes from feeling expansive and adventurous to questioning her own judgment.

This is not about ignoring shared finances or dismissing the opinion of someone you love. Your partner’s concerns deserve to be heard, especially when your decisions affect the life you are building together.

That said, there is a difference between having a thoughtful conversation with your partner and asking for their permission to lead your own company (the one YOU took the risk to build).

The person questioning the investment may love you deeply and genuinely believe they are protecting you.

They also may have never started a business, taken the risk of becoming an entrepreneur, carried the weight of the vision, or put their name on the business registration.

Part of becoming the founder capable of creating bigger results is learning to trust your own judgment even when the people around you would choose the safer path.

You are allowed to say no.
Just make sure it is actually your no.

This kind of public backlash toward obvious AI graphics is only going to become more common.

You do not want to be the business on the street with graphics that instantly look fake, cheap, and AI-generated.
