Day one at AAM is in the books, and our LED beanbag toss game was a hit!

For our “Out of this World Fabrication” booth, we wanted to create something fun, interactive, and memorable, so we built our own game in-house.

The idea started in one of our biweekly creative meetings, where our design, interactive, fabrication, and graphics teams come together to share ideas and explore new technology.

What makes the game unique is the combination of physical bean bags with an interactive LED screen, creating a hands-on digital experience that helped drive booth traffic and spark great conversations.

This is how we approach museum, visitor center, and trade show projects.

Today we celebrated Amy Humbert’s retirement after 20 years at CEI.

Amy has made a lasting impact on our company through her hard work, dedication, thoughtfulness, and genuine care for both our team and our clients.

From her early days managing national accounts to her leadership as Vice President of Sales, Amy helped shape so many important parts of CEI’s journey. She helped strengthen our internal processes, supported our sales team, contributed to marketing and wellness efforts, and consistently brought a calm, steady presence to the work.

Amy also modeled the core values we believe in at CEI:
Integrity, Respect, Teamwork, Innovation, Excellence, and Service.

We are deeply grateful for everything Amy has done over the last 20 years and for the care she brought to every project, every client, and every teammate.

For 20 years, Danny Herold has been a go-to resource in the warehouse, keeping projects organized, shipments on track, and details dialed in. His knowledge of client needs and his willingness to jump in wherever needed make him an invaluable resource for other warehouse employees and team members from all departments.

Danny is a man of strong opinions: his devotion to Taco Bell is unwavering, his aversion to snakes and mice is intense, and he’s an absolute avid fan who LOVES to talk Cleveland sports and Massillon Tiger football (ask him… we dare you!). Add in a steady supply of Ghost energy drinks, a talent for playing real-life Tetris with truckloads, and some sharp wit, and you’ve got him in a nutshell.

Through it all, he’s embraced change, supported his team, and kept things moving forward (with just the right amount of sarcasm along the way). Thanks for 20 years of dedication, Danny — we appreciate everything you do!

Congratulations to Mike Greathouse on his 25th anniversary with CEI! The following was posted on our social media pages:

Mike-gyver. Magic Mike. Mr. Fixit. Mike Greathouse. Our go-to guy for crazy head-scratchers and all things graphics production is celebrating 25 years at CEI, and we can’t imagine getting by without him. Mike consistently goes above and beyond to solve problems, using his varied talents and skills to meticulously ferret-out the most obscure solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems. In his role as graphics production specialist, Mike can match nearly any color, get glass-smooth results with adhesive vinyl on most any surface, and make sure our clients’ graphics look their best whether on the trade show floor, for a vehicle application, or as part of a permanent display. Congratulations, Mike, and thank you for sharing your unique perspective to make us all look great!

During her 30 years with CEI, Beth has served as receptionist, office manager, and AP and billing representative, bringing positive energy and exceptional ownership to every role. With everything that Jim Poling manages at work, you’d think the last thing he wanted to do when he got home was more organizing and coordinating. Think again. Our Operations Manager, who is celebrating his 15-year anniversary with CEI, knows no bounds when it comes to “being there” for family members. In addition to being a devoted dad to his sons, he is quick to assist for all extended family, whether it’s organizing birthday parties and providing support for extracurricular activities for his nieces and nephews, hosting family events for holidays, or providing day-to-day assistance for his mother. Loyal, devoted, and talented (carpentry? plumbing? electrical? even crafting… no problem!). Jim is the “go-to” guy and one of the most reliable people we know. Congratulations on your anniversary, Jimmy. Take a break - - you deserve it!

Yes, you’re reading that right: 45 years. Steve “Skin” Combs has been an integral part of CEI since 1980 just three years after our founding. Our employee #2 was the first team member hand-picked by then-President and -Owner, Dick McLaughlin, and he has seen the torch passed to Dick’s son, Scott, and now on to grandson, Erik. Steve has been a vital part of our company’s growth as Production Supervisor, and more recently in the part-time role of Facilities Management and Special Projects. He has built, managed, and problem-solved for more projects than anyone in our company, perhaps anyone in the industry, all while being a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. Steve’s experience has been invaluable to us for four-and-a-half decades, and a huge part of our success from the beginning. Congratulations, Steve! We wouldn’t be the same without you!
