Your website needs more than a strong launch; it needs regular care to keep running smoothly.

One of the simplest (but often overlooked) ways to build trust and avoid issues?

Routine website maintenance. That includes:

✅ Updating software and plugins
✅ Checking for broken links
✅ Backing up your site regularly
✅ Monitoring speed and security

Think of it like an oil change for your car; you do it to prevent problems, not fix them after they happen. Just as with car care, some people end up overpaying for website maintenance that doesn’t actually meet their needs.

If you’re already paying for upkeep, it might be worth a second look.

I offer affordable maintenance plans that keep your site healthy, secure, and working for you without unnecessary add-ons or inflated costs.

Managing your website and marketing shouldn't feel like another job.

But for many business owners, it does. Things take longer than expected. Communication gets spotty. You're left chasing updates instead of focusing on your actual work.

That's usually what brings people to me.

I work with coaches and business owners who need someone they can hand things off to and actually trust. Clear communication, steady progress, and no guessing what's next.

And if life gets busy and something slips on your end, I'll give you a gentle nudge rather than let things get lost. A lot of my clients have told me that it alone takes a weight off their shoulders.

If that sounds like what you've been looking for, let's talk.

Today, we honor those who gave everything.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend; it's a reminder of the profound sacrifice made by the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country.

Their sacrifice is the reason we gather, laugh, and live freely. Take a moment today to remember them.

Before you hire someone to build or redesign your website, it's worth asking a few questions. Not to make the process harder, but to make sure you end up with something that actually works for you.

Here are three I'd encourage every business owner to consider:

1. Do they ask about your business before talking about design?

A good web designer should want to understand what you do, who you serve, and what you're trying to accomplish before anything visual comes up. If the conversation jumps straight to colors and layouts, that's worth noting.

2. How do they communicate, and how often?

You shouldn't have to chase someone down for updates. Ask upfront what their process looks like and how they keep clients in the loop. The answer will tell you a lot.

3. What happens after the site goes live?

A website isn't a one-time thing. Ask whether they offer ongoing support, what that looks like, and who to call if something breaks. A partner who sticks around is worth a lot more than one who hands things off and disappears.

You deserve to feel confident about who you're trusting with something this important. Asking the right questions upfront makes all the difference.

When it comes to building or improving your digital presence, the tech matters, but the relationship matters more.

Handing someone your website or brand isn’t just a transaction.

It’s trust. It’s vision. It’s letting someone into something you’ve worked hard to build.

One of the best parts of what I do is getting to partner with people who care deeply about their work and supporting them in a way that feels encouraging, collaborative, and human.

I’m grateful for every client who chooses to work with me, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Their feedback and trust mean the world to me.

If you’re looking for a partner who brings strategy, support, and a calm, steady presence while you build what’s next, I’d love to talk.

If you haven't checked out the UNMUTED+ podcast hosted by Page Hinerman, I highly recommend it.

The show spotlights bold, brilliant women who are rewriting what leadership looks like. And in every episode, she asks her guests the same three questions. One of them has had me thinking lately:

"What's one leadership rule you had to unlearn?"

It's a great question for all leaders. And for me, probably because of my love of sports, I used to believe leaders were the loudest ones in the room.

Giving the big speech before the game.
The one rallying the troops.

And while some great leaders absolutely lead that way, I've learned that's not the only way.

Some of the most powerful leaders I've encountered are the ones who simply show up consistently. They do the work. They're there when it matters. And people trust them because of it.

It's a leadership trait I see with many of the clients I work with.

They aren't looking to be the center of attention, and showing up online isn't always easy for them. But they show up: for their business, and for the people who count on them.

What's one leadership rule you've had to unlearn? I'd love to hear it.

Happy Mother’s Day!

There’s something special about the role mothers play in our lives. The support, guidance, and sacrifices that often go unseen, yet make all the difference.

And somehow, they manage to do it all while putting up with us through every phase, every bad decision, and every stressful moment we may have caused along the way.

Also, a special shoutout to my mom. I’m incredibly grateful for everything you’ve done for me and continue to do. I definitely wouldn’t be where I am without you.

Thank you to all the moms and mother figures who have shaped our lives in so many ways.

Wishing you all a great day!

If you’ve ever used Adobe Illustrator, you know how powerful it is AND also how quickly those subscriptions can add up.

Here’s something I’ve been looking into recently: Affinity by Canva.

It’s now available for free (with optional paid features), making it a compelling alternative to the subscription-heavy Adobe suite.

What makes it stand out is that it still offers many of the core design capabilities you’d expect.

You can create vector graphics, design logos, build marketing materials, and work on layouts, all within a platform that feels a bit more approachable than some of the more advanced design software.

And like Illustrator, it can run locally on your computer rather than being fully cloud-based, which means it’s fast, responsive, and doesn't depend on your internet connection once it’s installed.

For business owners, especially in the design world, this can be especially helpful if you:
• want more control over your branding and graphics
• create social media content or marketing materials regularly
• don’t want to rely on expensive monthly subscriptions
• need something more flexible than basic tools, but less overwhelming than full Adobe products

For all my design friends out there, have you used Affinity? Would you recommend it as a realistic alternative? Let me know in the comments!

What makes someone stay on your website?

Colors, animations, and how professional your site looks all matter. But they usually aren’t what keeps people there.

What it really comes down to is how quickly someone can understand what they're looking at and how easy it feels to move through the site.

When a website is clear and easy to navigate, people stay longer. They explore. They start to feel more confident about the business behind it.

When it's confusing, slow, or overwhelming, people leave.

No message. No inquiry. Just gone.

Research shows the first 10 seconds are the most critical. If your site doesn't communicate clearly in that window, most people won't stick around to find out more.

When did you last check how long people are actually staying on yours?

Most of the time, it’s not one big issue. It’s small things that add up. Unclear messaging. Too many options. No obvious next step. A layout that feels harder than it should.

A good website doesn't try to impress people. It helps them.

If you're not sure how your site is performing, I'd be happy to take a look:

Here’s a simple test you can try with your website.

Open your homepage and imagine someone seeing it for the very first time.

Give yourself five seconds and ask:

• Do I immediately understand what this business does?
• Is it clear who they help?
• Do I know what step to take next?

If the answers aren't obvious, visitors are likely feeling the same confusion.

Most people don’t read websites word-for-word. They scan quickly and decide within seconds whether to keep exploring or move on.

A clear headline, simple messaging, and a visible next step can make all the difference.

If you’d like a quick second opinion on your site, I’m always happy to take a look.
