This was one of the most exciting stops of the tour.

We showcased STRATIS™, the newest seeded paspalum on the market, featuring herbicide resistance through ACCE technology ™ developed by the University of Georgia and Dr. Paul Raymer with breeders at Pure-Seed Testing. Dr. Raymer spoke on the development and significance of this advancement, alongside guest speaker Dr. Benjamin Pritchard on herbicide trial work demonstrating STRATIS’ resistance compared to other paspalums.

Field trials conducted in both North Carolina and Oregon highlighted this performance, with compelling visual differences between varieties containing ACCe Technology and those without it.

Guest Speaker Héctor López-Deschamps discussed his experience with Pure Dynasty and STRATIS in Mexico, Latin America and the Dominican Republic.

Cowgirl is one of the few forage tall fescues in the soft-leaved class.

Low lignin drives 70% total digestible nutrients, 10%+ crude protein, and 6–8 tons of dry matter per acre. Cold tolerant, extremely drought tolerant, and versatile across grazing, hay, and silage systems.

Deep roots. Real results.

At our 40th Field Day, Crystal Fricker talked about Pure Eclipse bentgrass, which is now on around 50 golf courses and trials and still gaining ground, with strong demand coming out of Japan.

The Kentucky bluegrass trial nearby was a different scene. Seeded last fall with light irrigation, it took the full brunt of the drought. The experimentals that held up best, K25-25 and K24-24, carry Texas bluegrass in their background, which is what lets a grass that looks like Kentucky bluegrass handle the dry stretch.

Fine fescue does not get the credit it deserves. At our 40th Field Day, Dr. Daniel Sandor of Virginia Tech made the case for it: fine fescues need far less water than most cool season grasses, so you can keep your turf and still cut way back on inputs.

The proof was standing right there. A stand of Aurora hard fescue, seeded back in 1991, is still holding on decades later with almost no help.

Nearby, Dr. Melodee Fraser's tall fescue plots carried the same idea. Bred for drought tolerance and density, an experimental, 5LOD, showed the drastic difference of innovative breeding compared to Kentucky 31, a forage type that opens up and thins under stress.

Some stories are bigger than grass seed.

We recently had the opportunity to learn from Foday Kabba and the incredible work happening at Kalabash Academy in West Africa. By combining education and sports, they're creating opportunities for young people to pursue their dreams and build brighter futures.

We're grateful to have gotten the opportunity to play a small role by donating grass seed to help their vision of building the best pitch in The Gambia.

These images are a reminder of how quickly things can change.

We’re thinking of all Spokane residents and first responders following the recent fire tragedy that burned 700 structures. The view from the Spokane Indian's Avista stadium highlights the poor air quality and how quickly things changed in their community. It went from sunny blue skies one week to dense smoke and fire destruction the next.

Oregon and Washington are experiencing the worst wildfire activity in recent memory. Oregon has seen over 2 million acres burned this season. The hot and dry spring created the perfect conditions for wildfires to spark. We continue to pray for and think of all the citizens affected, along with the incredible first responders, firefighters, and air attack pilots who are fighting around the clock to protect our land, wildlife, livestock, and homes.

Thank you Tony Lee for sharing these photos of his beautiful Kentucky bluegrass field glowing in the hot summer. We are relieved to know him and his team along with the stadium are safe from the fire.
