Sometimes, I REALLY don't like talking during my salon and spa experience. But that's because I'm an introvert and often get tired by people's energy.

Want your salon clients to feel loved and seen so they keep coming back for more?

Then consider this:

People (me) LOVE salons that take the time to offer options on how to enjoy their salon or spa experience, before they even arrive.

And every person's needs differ depending on the day and their personality. If they've had a hard day, week, or month, maybe they want to talk about it with a stranger. Maybe they don't want to talk at all.

Your job is to know which experience they prefer.

People don't always like being sold to with the same message over and over. But they do like following brands and businesses they align with on a deeper personal level.

🔥 Hot take: the AI posters you're making do nothing for your brand.

They all look the same. None of them are original. Slap your logo on one, and it still looks like everyone else's, no matter the industry.

You can also spot AI-generated marketing materials of any kind from a mile away. And customers not on the AI train can see it too. You're not fooling them.

I get it, though. Budgets are tight, time is precious, and AI feels like the easier route.

But here's the thing: more of the same creates fatigue.

Seeing it over and over desensitizes your audience until your brand disappears into the noise, all while the business that chose originality gets remembered and chosen.

You can't stand out from competitors with creative assets that look like every other AI-generated poster across every industry.

Branded creative is your chance to show people WHO you are and WHY they should pick you.

AI posters don't do that. They show how similar you are to everyone else.

So take some free Canva courses or hire a designer.

Set a goal is to stand out, and if you don't know how to do it, ask someone who knows.

👋 Hey Friends. I have an update.

July 31, 2026, I'm taking a step back.

This first quarter has been challenging for my personal life.

Since December 2025, I have been dealing with a myriad of health issues that sprouted out of nowhere (probably due to stress), and I have spent the past few months seeing lots of specialists to figure out how to feel better.

Some health issues have been resolved, while others are still active and emotionally and physically exhausting.

On top of that, personal pursuits like authoring books, doing art, reading books, and traveling in my van with my partner have all taken a back seat.

My heart really misses these things.

Because of this, I am (sadly) making the tough decision to step back from my involvement in a variety of business and volunteer efforts that support small businesses in Fremont County.

I want to help everyone. So, I've been gladly running alongside local small businesses and initiatives for nearly two years without much stopping. It has been awesome to use my marketing superpowers to empower local small businesses.

And I know the need for marketing support is still very great in this community.

SO! This does not mean I am closing down or going away forever. I am very much still here.

I'm moreso dialing back services to give my body and mind a chance to heal while allowing myself the time to enjoy my creative pursuits once again.

💙 So, how will my services look now?

I'll be wrapping up major existing projects by July 31, 2026.

- RESPONSE TIME: After July, expect response times to be a bit slower
- NEW MARKETING REQUESTS: Please still inquire about new marketing needs. I will have a ticketing system and will be a bit more selective about what I can take on
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Past clients still have access to me for technical support through a ticketing system (I promised support forever, and I meant it)
- COURSES: I am finalizing some free and paid online courses that you will be able to access to help with marketing needs.
- DISCORD: I am in the process of creating a Discord marketing channel for the Fremont County small businesses. There, you will be able to ask marketing questions and get answers from me. It would be a low-cost subscription for anyone interested.

I am beyond grateful for the many small businesses that have entrusted me with their marketing.

I hope (intend, really) to continue this work after a short break and will let everyone know when I feel ready to conquer the small business marketing world again.

Good morning, lovelies!

If you have recently received an email from me regarding WordPress compliance and domain renewal, please do not respond; report it as a phishing attack in your inbox settings immediately.

Thank you to the person who let me know about it immediately. ❤️ you.

There is a rise in online email attacks from people who have gotten very good at pretending to be a business you might work with.

This email, however, was probably the worst attempt I've seen. (Image attached)

If an email ever seems a bit "phishy" to you, here are some things you can do to investigate without making contact with the sender:

- Check the email address you're receiving it from and see if it corresponds with the one I (or whoever) uses during regular comms
- Hover, DON'T CLICK, but hover over whatever link they send you and look in the bottom left corner of your screen. Make sure it is sending you to a valid place URL and not some random URL using every letter from the alphabet.
- If the sender is asking you for payment outside of something you originally agreed on, do not provide payment in any form. Report the email immediately.

I'm sure there are other good practices, but those are the three main things I do to ensure this person is who they say they are.
