Having trouble finding testimonials? Here are some easy ways to find them when you think you have none!
Where Testimonials Are Hiding (and How to Capture Them Easily)
Most people think testimonials are something you chase.
In reality, they’re already happening around you, constantly.
Your goal is just to spot them, save them, and turn them into usable “social proof assets.”
Below is a simple framework designed for someone like you — busy, high-volume, lots of client interactions — who needs a low-effort way to extract gold from daily workflow.
🔍 1. Look for “Micro-Testimonials” in Everyday Messages
These are throwaway lines that people say without realizing they’re testimonials.
Look for statements like:
“Thank you, that helped a ton.”
“This made everything so much easier.”
“That call really shifted things.”
“You’re always so on top of it.”
“You’re a lifesaver.”
“You always give me clarity.”
“You helped me get unstuck.”
“I feel so much more confident after talking to you.”
“This is exactly what I needed.”
Anywhere you see gratitude, relief, clarity, progress, energy, or momentum… you have a testimonial.
Where they appear:
Text messages
LinkedIn DMs
Email replies
Zoom chat comments
Workshop breakout comments
Friends saying it casually in conversation
Clients saying it during a coaching call
📨 2. Set Up a “Testimonial Capture Folder” (5 seconds per message)
Create a single place where you drop anything that might become a testimonial.
Options:
A folder in Gmail (“Client Love”)
A folder in your iPhone screenshots
A Google Doc titled “Testimonials – Raw Capture”
A note in Apple Notes
Rule:
If it feels good, screenshot it or forward it into the folder, then decide later if it’s usable.
This removes all friction.
✍️ 3. Convert Raw Comments Into Polished Testimonials
Many emails and messages have testimonials embedded in them.
I don't like to rewrite or take anything out of context. I do like to pull out the good part of longer messages.
You can use a simple 3-line structure:
Problem (Where they were stuck)
Solution (What you did)
Result (What changed)
🤝 4. When You Want to Ask, Use the “Capture What You Already Said” Method
This works incredibly well because it doesn’t feel like asking for anything.
You simply reply:
“Hey — what you just said was perfect.
Would you mind if I use that as a short testimonial?”
OR
“You explained your results better than I ever could — can I use that as a testimonial?”
Most people say yes instantly because it’s easy and it reflects what they already said.
🎤 5. Turn Private Praise Into Public Social Proof
If you have text messages, emails, or DMs, but want permission to share publicly, use this:
“This message was so powerful.
Would you mind if I shared your words (first name only) in my marketing?”
If they prefer initials, that still counts.
Screenshot-style testimonials feel authentic and outperform polished quotes.
📅 6. Make It Part of Your Weekly Rhythm
Here’s a workflow that matches your style:
Fridays — 10 minutes
Scroll emails, texts, and DMs
Screenshot anything praise-like
Drop into your “Client Love” folder
First Monday of the month — 10 minutes
Pick 2–3 to turn into cleaned-up testimonials
Add to your Google Doc library
Use one for a social post that week
This system compounds.
