Every year on Memorial Day, we honor the brave men and women who gave everything in service to our country. But behind the parades, the flags, and the somber remembrances is a lesser-known story inked across America’s history: the role of the printing industry in shaping our national identity.
📜 During the Civil War, printers were the silent soldiers of communication—disseminating recruitment posters, military orders, and newspapers that kept the Union (literally) on the same page.
🗞️ In World Wars I and II, bold typographic propaganda rallied millions. “I Want YOU” wasn’t just Uncle Sam pointing—it was a masterpiece of print design and persuasive messaging.
🎖️ And to this day, every Memorial Day program, cemetery marker, and folded flag's certificate has been touched by the hand of a printer. The power of ink on paper continues to preserve memory, honor sacrifice, and tell stories that must never be forgotten.
