The Jackson Sky website has a fresh, new look! Our team and services remain consistent, but we’ve refreshed the design and updated our case studies to highlight new projects.

As students in Perry Township head into winter break, they have a fresh set of websites for all 20+ schools and the district itself.

Our partnership with Perry Schools began with a complete overhaul of all their websites in 2017. Since then, we’ve continued to provided support, updates, and training to the district. This year, we all agreed the time was right for a refresh. The new sites feature an updated look and improved usability. In WordPress, we rebuilt the themes to offer more flexibility and increased ease-of-use for the webmasters at each school who update the sites on a weekly basis.

Similar to the previous version of the websites, the 20+ school sites follow the structure and design of the main site. However, they can be customized so each school can take pride in their individual logo and colors while maintaining cohesion with the other schools in the district.

This website project served as a great follow-up to the new set of logos we created for all the elementary schools and kindergarten academies in 2022.

We are very happy with how the sites turned out and look forward to continuing to work with Perry Schools to provide the best possible website experience for parents, students, teachers, and the community as a whole. Visit the new sites at www.perryschools.org

New work! Sometimes we are challenged with developing really complex websites, and other times we get to enjoy making complicated systems look good. In the case of the Indiana College Core (mycollegecore.org), we got to do the latter. We were hired by Onebridge and teamed up with Jon Eynon at EcoLogik Web Development to create a website where students can create individualized plans for earning college credit while still in high school.

Jackson Sky was responsible for the design and development of the WordPress theme and creating the informational pages on the website. We also refreshed the logo, created a library of illustrations used on the site, and are in the process of designing supporting digital and print materials.

The real magic, however, was the online tool built by our long-time collaborator and friend, Jon at Ecologik. Students can create individualized plans that they can save, share, and even get real-time feedback on whether they're meeting the necessary criteria. We suggested design and layout details for this tool, but Jon deserves the credit for getting this powerful tool to work and bringing the client's vision to life.

The new school year is well underway, and Perry Township Schools have a brand new set of logos for all their elementary schools and kindergarten academies that we launched this spring! Here a few of our favorites and some before and afters.

Our relationship with Perry Township Schools began when we did a complete overhaul of all their websites back in 2017. Because of this, we were a natural fit for when it was time to have new logos designed for their 15+ elementary schools and kindergarten academies. The goal of the project was for each school to retain their uniqueness and identity, but create a family of logos that are cohesive and complete. (Some of the schools did not even have a logo in a usable vector format.) We provided a variety of lockups - combining their mascot with their school name - for each school to use as needed across a variety of mediums and materials.

We are so happy we could be a part of this project. It was very fulfilling to see the end result, and knowing all the logos are now displayed together on a large wall at one of their new buildings.

New(ish) Work: Earlier this year, we launched a new website for the Innovation Lab for Food Safety at Purdue University. Their overall mission is to “reduce the burden of food-borne illness and break the cycle of disease, malnutrition, and food insecurity.”

Their projects are also tackling timely issues, including managing food safety and food security as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Last month we launched a Weather & Climate Toolkit for our client, Illinois-Indiana Sea Grant. The toolkit provides online resources for parents and teachers, especially those who are teaching virtually. The resources can be filtered by a variety of categories, including grade level and topic.
