Sometimes life's unexpected paths lead us to exactly what we need. Adopting Marley, a 15-year-old hard-of-hearing dog, was a bet I'd win in hindsight. She's healed my heart, revealed hidden strengths, and taught me about unconditional love. Last night's valentines dinner with friends was the perfect reminder of the beauty in genuine connections and laughter. Seeing friends love on Marley, support each other, and enjoy good food warmed my heart. To be loved for who I am is a gift. My heart is full of gratitude and love, thanks to Marley and her perfect resting model face.

i love a room facelift!

i’m going to let you in on a little secret… most people don’t need an entire overhaul. They need a professional to see the space with fresh eyes!

Common reasons people delay hiring a pro:
•fear of judgment
•feeling not worthy enough to “treat themselves”
•think “it’s not a big deal, I can live with the space”

One of the biggest mistakes i see with clients is pulling the trigger too fast, buying things to fill the space, or filling it with leftover pieces.

In this project:
•Left image: a loft lounge that needed to double as a guest space.

•Right image: warm, inviting, and layered with texture and color.

What changed:
•I kept the existing pull-out couch and aimed to warm the space up to complement a stunning two-story wood-panelled wall.

•Neutral carpet and couch provide a serene backdrop; the vibe shifts to nature-inspired warmth: think a warm fire, fall leaves, and summer sun.

•New pieces: two chenille chairs (pet and child-proof), a boucle footrest that doubles as extra seating, an easy-to-move leather ottoman, and a wood & brass end table to ground the space.

•Rich, rust-toned accents
•Wood tones that add depth
•Browns that invite coziness and earthy calm

🏡🔨 Inspiring Dream to Speakeasy Soul – A Basement Transformation 🥃

From a 1900s house with a stairwell that whispered “careful” to a bold, intimate speakeasy vibe, this project is proof that character beats conformity.

What you see:
•Flimsy, uneven basement stairs rebuilt into sturdy steps with a custom runner and vintage runner rods
•Dark, moody walls that invite conversations and memories
•Cinder block walls painted to preserve the home’s original heartbeat
•Hidden floor cast-iron pipes tucked away with a vintage doctor’s bag
•A revival of DIY spirit: we leaned into the existing floor, respecting the past while crafting a future

Why it works:
•Respect for history: no drywall, just preservation and personality
•Contrast that tells a story: dark tones, warm textures, and timeless hardware
•Craft over assembly: rebuilt stairs, custom runner, and intentionally chosen details elevate the space without erasing its soul

The client started with DIY flooring, and together we honored that momentum—transforming what began as a functional space into a soulful retreat. Sometimes you don’t need to tear it down to lift it up; you rewrite the narrative with every detail you choose to keep.
