This has been a busy month of July for us, here at Jeri's Signs & Creative Creations . My partner in art crime, Linda Feitz , owner of Linda Feitz Designs and myself, Jeri Burger ,had the pleasure of teaching, creating and laughing with 39 giggly young artist.
Jeri's Signs hosted three fun & engaging, "Paint, Giggle, & Create" 3 Day Art Camps held at the Carroll County Area YMCA with Bret Lyon for the summer camps. We incorporation a famous artist into each week of our at camp.
๐จ Week 1 introduced the kiddos to Henri Matisse "Under the Sea" showing them they can not only paint with brushes, but with scissors like Matisse did when he was unable to hold a brush. Matisse is the Sea coral and creatures for in inspiration when creating his collages. Paper cutting is a fun way to create paintings.
๐จ Week 2 was all about Henri Rousaeu " Jungle Oasis". The kiddos learned about Rousseau who loved painting the rainforest and wild animals. He was a self-taught painter and the kiddos learned from him was you do not have to travel to these far away places for adventures. By using a paint brush along with their imagination they too can step into these bright colorful forests with these exotic wild animals to create their own adventure without leaving their home.
๐จ Week 3 our final art camp for the summer was great. Linda and I took these kiddos on a final adventure. We introduced these kiddos to da Vinic. Leonardo da Vinci "Dreambuiler's" learned he was not only a famous artist, but a scientist and an inventor. This final week was all about inventing projects that had a kinetic feature within on them. This final week, it was so much fun. They created kaleidoscopes, flying helicopters, putting together paper planes, painting a mona lisa parody, creating a clock, it's out of all the records, and making a flying Toothless the Dragon Mobile. Once again, seeing their smiling faces as they created their projects warmed our artist hearts.
The camps we're packed with projects, learning new art terms and fun facts about the three famous artists. The kiddos were awesome. We had so much fun and lots of giggles.
Enjoy the pics from our Week 3 of our art camp.
Hope to see everyone at our next one.
