I found where I will be volunteering

New year means new changes coming to Harvey’s Market that I am excited about!! Meet my friend Marlene Carson! She is a survivor of minor s*x Trafficing who not only survived But went on to become an advocate for those still being sold and exploited in the s*x trade forming her own national Anti-Trafficking network called “The switch” She works tirelessly around the clock coordinating with law enforcement The FBI and other organizations To rescue young girls and boys who have forced into this horrific life, and prosecute those responsible to the full extent of the Law. I sometimes call her “Harriet”. She doesn’t stop there, She is also passionate about restoring these children back to themselves so they too can live good whole lives in our society. Here is where our passions cross paths. She is in the process of buying and renovating a 32 bed facility here in Loudonville Called Rahab’s Hope of Ohio where these survivors can rehabilitate, and learn life and job skills. Harvey’s Market will be linking arms with her to help set up a greenhouse and retail market in Loudonville and teaching the survivors the skills needed to grow produce for their own use and also market what is left over to the public to help pay for the ongoing costs of the facility. Harvey’s market will also be looking to hire survivors as they seek employment opportunities. This is a huge undertaking and we won’t be able to do it alone, I am calling on us as a community to embrace Marlene and her Family of survivors at Rahab’s Hope Of Ohio as it takes shape here in our back yard.

There are many ways each of us can help! 100% of monetary donations will go directly towards the facility and getting it ready for the first survivors. All donations are tax deductible.
There will also be opportunities to Volenteer in the renovation process and I’m sure in many other ways.

Harvey and a representative from switch will be hosting a 1 hour virtual fund raiser this coming Thursday evening the 7th of January on zoom where there will be discussion on information to better understand s*x Trafficing and how to detect and report it and protect our children from this horror that far too many children experience right here in our own state and our country at large. There will be Q&A at the end with a survivor as well. Our goal is to raise at least $1000.
