The past 6 weeks have been a whirlwind. Ladies, can you relate?

⚾️ Spring kids' activities
📚 End of school year prep
📈 Work commitments
🌪️ Tornado warnings
😵‍💫 The news cycle and this once-in-a-lifetime astrology we’re apparently all living through

It can feel like…a lot.

But then I scroll through my camera roll and land on a photo like this one.

Me.
Speaking to a group of 25 women in business in Marion, Iowa.
And I’m reduced to happy tears 🥲

TBH: Part of that is because I figured out how to get my slide deck projected onto the TV with less than 5 minutes to spare (turns out…it helps when things are actually plugged in 🙃).

👉 But the bigger part?

I’m in a season of re-finding and re-fining myself as a leader.
What I have to offer.
How I help.
The gifts and passions I know I’m meant to share…even if I’m still figuring out exactly how to package it all.

When I look at this picture, I can feel the energy in the room.

Women becoming more confident as they sat in those chairs.
Women growing their belief in themselves with every click of the slide deck.
Women who walked out differently than they walked in…

Me included.

THAT’S what this is about.

And in the middle of the wild, full, sometimes overwhelming pace of life…these moments are what give me the conviction to keep going. To go bigger. To trust what’s unfolding. ✨

Now: tell me the good, the bad, and the ugly...how is this season of life going for you?

I'm working my presentation for a local women's business group that I will be with next week, and my key takeaway for attendees:

👉 You are allowed to change. Not everything you do will last forever.

Scary? A little.
Empowering? Abso-f**king-lutely.

For example, back in 2012-2013 I wore Calvin Klein sheath dresses and heels to teach high school English/language arts 4 out of 5 days a week. Today, you'll catch me wearing a baseball cap and leggings as I consult clients in marketing, leadership, and business growth in Zoom meetings from my home office.

You won't catch me saying "Can you believe I was so dumb to dress up for work back then?" or "Gosh, I'm so embarrassed I took the time to try looking professional in my first career." 🙄

No. I needed to do that in that season. And now, I choose differently. It's that simple.

The marketing you tried, the messaging you tested, and the business endeavors you launched in past seasons of life may have panned out or not.

But in the end, they were what you needed to do to listen to yourself, try something new, and get you to the person you are today.

Nothing is wasted, my friend 🤍

Most things you do won't last forever. That's the nature of the modern world we live and work in with limitless opportunities available to us.

When I started my business at Molly Knuth Media in 2016, I thought I would follow a linear growth trajectory, and I would only be a "success" if I was still in the same business after 5 years, then 10, without changing.

👉 Ha to the ha ha ha.

Now I know with time and hindsight that I needed to try things that didn't work.

They gave me lessons and range that help me find my way ever closer to being the person I was made to be. I'm still working on who and what that is, if I'm being totally honest.

Ok, that's all for this rambly post. There's really no point to it, no call to action, no polishing from AI (seriously, even though I was really tempted). My hope is that you see this as the kind of off-the-cuff, honest, authentic, real content that we don't see much of anymore but we're all really hungry for in this age of AI.

I have a really hard time explaining who I am and what I do to people.

▫️ I'm a mom of 4 and a wife of nearly 17 years and...
▫️ I am a former teacher and at my core I love learning and teaching people and...
▫️ I am currently a managing director of a leadership coaching and consulting firm and...
▫️ I am a podcaster who helps shine the light on women doing incredible things and...
▫️ I am passionate about local schools and doing big things in small towns and...
▫️ I love working though I really can't really explain how I help people in a 30-second pitch and...
▫️ I love leading, not because of the power but because of doing things others haven't tried before or showing that things can be done and...
▫️ I love to sing and...
▫️ I love to be silly and...
▫️ I love drinking beer with good friends and...
▫️ I love being on stage and...
▫️ I love personality assessments and politics, pop culture and feminism.

In the same breath as all of this:
◾️ I get nervous to introduce myself to new people (or even someone I haven't seen in a long time) and...
◾️ I am an introvert and need quiet time to recharge and...
◾️ I am stubborn and...
◾️ Difficult conversations still scare me.

Trying to write all of this in a short bio for a speaking introduction can be very intimidating 😆

Many aspects of me are contradictory. Many people I surround myself with are like me, though many are starkly different in their personality, views, and beliefs.

I contain multitudes. So do you.

We can't all be drilled down into this OR that.

We are all made of ANDs.

That's it. That's the whole post. I'm not trying to persuade you into anything or get you to click into an offer. 🤍

…I should have kept the music going 😆🙃 thank you You Conferences - Women’s Empowerment Conference for the opportunity to speak (and sing!) and Nicole Studt | Podcaster & Enneagram Coach for capturing this angle of all the joy!

A reminder from my conversation with personal brand expert Danielle Letayf:
"In the era of AI… don’t lose yourself in your bio."

So many bios sound like this:
• job titles
• accomplishments
• awards
• credentials

But when Danielle actually talks to these people, she tells them:
"You sound nothing like you do on paper."

Your bio shouldn’t be a list of everything you've ever done.

Instead ask yourself:
👉 What do I want to be known for?

Then tell the story that makes that clear.

We’re told businesses should last forever.

And when they don’t?
“Failure.”

👉 But what if it’s actually evolution?

Because the person you were when you started is not the same person you are five years later.

And sometimes the bravest thing a founder can do is change.

Listen for more on this topic in Episode 243: Your Story is Your Superpower with my special guest Danielle Letayf, now streaming on Apple Podcasts and Spotify!

This week on The Found Podcast, I’m joined by Danielle Letayf — founder of Badassery, personal brand strategist, and podcast guesting expert helping people turn their story into their superpower.

But this conversation goes way beyond branding.

We talked about:
✨ taking risks without blowing up your whole life
✨ why comparison keeps so many women stuck
✨ the messy pivots that shape us
✨ how to refine your story without flattening yourself
✨ what actually makes someone a great podcast guest
✨ and why resilience matters more than perfection

One of my favorite takeaways?

👉 You do not have to be the loudest, flashiest, or most polished person in the room.

You just have to be willing to tell the truth about who you are, what you’ve learned, and why it matters. 🤍

This one is full of wisdom for founders, storytellers, and women building brave things in ways that actually fit their life.

New episode is live now on The Found Podcast with Molly Knuth, wherever you listen!

🚨 Very rarely does anyone have a perfectly linear journey in their life or career.

Most of us don’t move in a straight line from where we started to where we end up. Instead, it’s a collection of experiences...the wins, the pivots, the hard seasons, the unexpected opportunities...that slowly point us in the right direction.

And when you look back, you start to see the threads.

👉 The lessons you learned.
👉 The people you served.
👉 The skills you didn’t realize you were building at the time.

All of it connects to help you step into the work that feels meaningful and aligned today.

One of my favorite parts of hosting The Found Podcast is hearing women reflect on their journeys and realizing that nothing was wasted. Every chapter helped shape how they lead and serve now ✨

Your path doesn’t have to make sense looking forward.
Sometimes it only makes sense looking back.

Education can’t always be a “pause real life for 2–4 years” situation anymore.

Because real life doesn’t pause.
People have families. Bills. Responsibilities. Big dreams… and limited margin.

That’s why I loved what Amy Lasack of Northeast Iowa Community College shared in this clip: community colleges (and leaders) have to rethink education as a journey with on-and-off ramps, flexible pathways, and options that meet people where they actually are.

🎙️ NEW EPISODE: The Found Podcast with Molly Knuth

What if education wasn’t a phase of life… but a lifelong ecosystem designed to support real people living real lives?

In this conversation with Amy Lasack, Vice President at Northeast Iowa Community College , we talk about:

✨ why careers aren’t linear anymore
✨ how community colleges are quietly transforming local economies
✨ saying yes to opportunities that scare you a little
✨ and the life lesson that reshaped Amy’s definition of success

This episode is a beautiful reminder that growth happens when communities listen and when we allow ourselves to evolve along the way.

If you’re a leader, parent, business owner, or lifelong learner, this one will stay with you.
