Hey guys! We're running into more and more people sending us AI generated artwork. While it is a great tool to give us an idea as to what you're looking for, it does not provide print ready files in most cases. A side note, please look over your AI generated designs. Majority of them have a lot of errors in them.
What does that mean? It means that 9 times out of 10 we have to recreate what was made in a useable format for us. We create Vector files so that way your image doesn't become pixelated when it is enlarged and it is easier to manipulate for many different processes.
Another thing that AI typically does is make complex images that can be tough to recreate as a vector file. Can it be done? Yes, but it takes time, sometimes, a lot of time to remake these designs. That slows down our production time not only for your project but others as well. We have to charge a design fee to recreate designs that are not print ready.
Another thing to keep in mind that it is also more expensive when ordering things such as apparel with these types of designs. Price increases for every color added to the design. We do have options to simplify most designs down to a single color, but that also goes back into the need to have the vector file of your logo.
Let me know if you guys are interested in further information about this topic. We can provide examples of things we see and further explanation about what the difference is.
Per usual, I'm not looking to start a debate about AI in the comment section of this post if it's good or bad and how. Just trying to spread awareness about what to expect.
