IOP members' responses from March and May were compared to see if their expectations regarding tax refunds matched what actually happened. Most (87%) IOP members who expected a refund on their federal taxes received one. People who expected to owe taxes were also likely to be correct, but at a lower rate (67%). People who didn't expect to owe anything nor get a refund were a mixture, with nearly half (46%) receiving a refund and 25% being correct about not having to pay or get a refund.
