At first glace, list-building seems pretty simple: you meet people, you talk to them about my product, you put them on your list, your list gets longer, you're building your list, right? Well, yes and no. Lead retention is an important part of list building. After all, it doesn't do you much good to get people onto your list if they don't stay there. If most of the people on your list won't answer when you call, they're not really contacts, no matter how interested they seemed at first. And if you're losing old contacts faster than you're adding new ones, then you're not really building your list.
