I love adding positive feedback in lessons. Today I decided to experiment! I took the word awful and applied it as feedback. The student turned with shock in their face! I immediately smiled and asked if they knew what awful really meant? They didn’t, so I explained

Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary
That strikes with awe; that fills with profound reverence; as the awful majesty of Jehovah.
Struck with awe; scrupulous

They were blown away! Not only that but they felt a sense of accomplishment that they knew a words true meaning! I used it throughout the lesson and was acknowledge with a bunch of smiles and giggles each time! How fun it is to find humor in simple things and a way to lighten the mood when things get tense!!!
