If you’ve driven past the Greencastle McDonald’s on I-81, you’ve seen their massive high-rise sign — standing over 100 feet tall and visible straight from the highway. We recently spent a few full days giving that sign the attention it deserved.

Over time, large signs like these build up a lot of humidity, which can lead to organic growth inside the cabinet. When that happens, the sign can start to look dull, patchy, or uneven at night. Most people never think about that — but a good cleaning can make a world of difference.

For this project, we:
• Thoroughly cleaned the inside and outside using commercial-grade cleaners and power washing
• Added treatments to help prevent the growth from returning
• Replaced many of the internal lamps with brighter, fan-cooled LED bulbs for better lighting and increased airflow
• Upgraded the electrical service, including new grounding, a rebuilt service panel, ground-fault protection, and a surge protective device
• Made sure everything is safely wired, protected, and ready to shine for years to come

You can really see the difference in how clean and bright those golden arches look now!

You may have noticed some storefront changes around lately — including this Family Dollar / Dollar Tree in Fayetteville.

In 2015, Dollar Tree purchased Family Dollar with the goal of combining their brands under one umbrella. The idea was to blend the single-price model of Dollar Tree with Family Dollar’s multi-price format and neighborhood reach.

After operating the two chains together, Dollar Tree recently sold the Family Dollar brand to a private investment group — meaning many of the co-branded locations are now being converted into single stores once again.

This Fayetteville location is one of those transitions. We were brought in to remove the Dollar Tree signage as the store transitions to a Family Dollar.

You could say we helped Family Dollar drop a few dollars — safely, of course.

Recently, we got a call from Jean from the Sunoco on Dual Highway in Hagerstown, MD. One of the dollar digits on his fuel price sign had quit working.

After troubleshooting, we found the LED panel itself had failed. When we contacted the manufacturer, they said replacement parts weren’t available and it wasn't repairable — and wanted to sell a complete system upgrade for both price signs, even though everything else was working perfectly.

Instead, we repaired the original panel by replacing and re-soldering damaged components and the wiring harness, reinstalled it, and brought the digit back to life for a fraction of the cost of a full replacement.

Swing into Summer at Antietam Dairy!

With the heat cranking up this week, you’re gonna need a super way to cool off… and what better excuse to grab a cone than to visit your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man?

We had a blast helping install this custom-carved Spidey at Antietam Dairy, where the ice cream is just as legendary as their new superhero!

The carving—crafted by Mountain Mike’s Whetstone Woodworks and picked up at the Keystone State Carving Festival—now hangs proudly from their sign, watching over all your hot summer days and double scoops.

Heads up: Monday to Wednesday is looking hot on the forecast, so swing by, grab a cone, and say hi to the new guy hanging out front!

As a mark of respect for the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis, by the authority vested in me as President of the United States by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby order that the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, on the day of interment. I also direct that the flag shall be flown at half-staff for the same length of time at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including all military facilities and naval vessels and stations.

Patriot Day 2023

Monday, September 11th, 2023 marks the 22 year anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon, and United Airlines Flight 93 which crashed in suburban Pennsylvania. Patriot Day serves as a remembrance of the lives lost on that September morning.

By a joint resolution approved 12/18/2001, (Public Law 107-89) has designated September 11th of each year as "Patriot Day" which also directs the flags be lowered to half-staff for the entire day on September 11.
